I guess the rumored offers from Europe had legs after all.

He's 30 years old but young in mileage, Euro league is not nearly as grinding on the body. Plus he has the heart of a champion.

This will be good for morale. Morey hasn't paid anyone since he's been here.

About 1/2 of the max, pretty good for a guy who could possibly average 20 - 10, if the end of the season was any indication.

Was hoping it would be a little less, but he certainly deserves what he got. And with the way teams are shelling out for average guys this year (Amir Johnson, Drew Gooden, Darko, etc.) Scola was bound to get a more Star Forward type deal.

Quit in his contract year? Ya right... More like try to play better, improve his stats and overall game to earn a huge paycheck.

    or

We can sell high and trade him with expensive garbage like Jeffries and avoid having to pay him that huge paycheck next year.

i agree its not like scola relies on his quickness and agility to play the game .. he uses his smarts and hustle .. i m willing to bet 35 year scola is going to have just as much hustle and even more smarts ..

Great news. The Rockets just locked the heart and soul of the team in one week with Lowry and Scola.

Awesome news. Kyle and Luis are hardworkers and give their all. If we had a team filled with guys with this effort (and we're close) then I'd take us over 3 stars and scrubs any day.

If so, he isn't the guy I want leading my team.
