After watching the Rockets not make it through the first round or not even make it to the playoffs over the past 8 years, then maybe I'll take your advice. People who don't put anything at stake ie MONEY have no clue what its like to be a fan! When you've been a fan for over 30 years, then you can talk to me about being a fan!
On what's happened so far? Haven't the Rockets won alot of games during the regular season? Didn't you experience the excitement of a historic 22 game winning streak? I mean yes they haven't had much playoff success, but you buy regular season tickets to experience the entire season (unless your just one of the many fans that doesn't bother showing up for games and leaves the bottom bowl empty). Look, the only people that should be buying season tickets are die hard fans.......fans that aren't going to let something like the signing of Brent Barry change their mind about purchasing season tickets.....if that isn't you, maybe you shouldn't purchase them. I'm a Houston Texan season ticket holder, I mean really how the hell do you think I feel? But you know what, I'm also a die hard Texan fan, so I can recognize that my team is atleast trying to improve so I'm not going to give up on them..........I mean really, with the Rockets cap situation what did you really expect them to do this offseason.......steal Elton Brand from the Clippers, ink Corey Maggette to that 50 million dollar contract he was so desperately seeking, or be able to afford Baron Davis? The only way the Rockets are going to have a chance to get that legit 3rd scorer that you so desperately want is to trade for him.........the only way to do that without creating large holes elsewhere is to make good low key signings like this. One thing I've noticed about Morey is that he is always trying to improve the team (Like Rick Smith.....Houston actually has two pretty good young GMs in the city..........Astros need to wake the hell up and take notice.)

Solid move, a huge part of that 22 game streak was consisitently high 3 pt shooting %. Add another driving/3 pt sharpshooter to the mix and we are off to the races. Now hopefully Landry ques up a contract and we can finish our summer biz.
Look buddy you had 2 championships to fall back on. So cool it with the Koolaid and relax already. Rome wasn't build in a day. It would be great if every move was for a Brand or Artest but this league has rules. You cannot sign more than allowed. And since the only major players the Rockets have are considered part of the core, then it's not going to be a easy blockbuster trade any time soon. At this point, I don't know if DM would trade Battier to Sac for Artest. Chemistry is still very important and Artest is a chem buster. I just want the Landry business to be over with.

For those who said "meh, not really a splash" They had no idea who brent barry is. They think Brent Barry is just another near bald white guy (appology to Jon Barry) that only shoots 3s. Brent Barry is (probably) almost the most altheletic white guy this league has ever seen. And Barry is a player where other nba youngster should long to be. Look at all these youngster coming into the league thinking they can take over just because they can dunk, ie. gerald green, watch Barry play. Here comes someone who has actually mastered basketball fundamentals. Those slick moves does not come in when he was born, it came after hours of hours of hours on a basketball playground. For those who liked Jon Barry as much as I did, they will find Brent a pleasant surprise.
