So you would tell me your season tickets weren't worth it because they lost to Utah again, even though you got to see one of the most historic accomplishments in NBA history during the middle of the year(22 game winning streak)?
The third scoring option is going to be the rest of the team. If these guys can play like they played without Yao, WITH Yao... then I think we'll do just fine.
another funny one <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ONMkAYaeOJM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ONMkAYaeOJM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Yea, Guys like Luis Scola and Yao Ming put us over the top. We are on the right track. Enjoy the ride.
huge, huge fan of the signing. will it bring us a championship? no, but he's a great piece, and was underused in SA, because frankly, they didnt need him. i think he still has alot of game left in him besides just his shooting. he's a headsy player, GREAT passer, and fun to watch. those commercials are awesome. those guys have some personality to make for their boring style of ball. . try as i may to hate the spurs, i cant. classy organization and one of the best teams this league has seen. i reserve all my hatred for the mavs.
Wow. The fact that you have more disposable income than someone else that allows you to buy season tickets does not make you more of a fan. This is coming from a season ticket holder and long time fan I like the signing. He fills a need and is a solid player who can knock down open shots and makes good basketball decisions. He isn't the third scorer that we need but I think that Morey will make a few smaller trades (IE Luther or Steve or Chuck or maybe even Novak) that will improve the roster. Jackson's contract, along with another filler player could net us the third scorer we need at the trade deadline
Oh, boy it sucks to be in a small market even for the world champs. I am sure the Chinese shoe companies will take care of Brent with a full treatment every summer in China no less than what Battier's got.
5 years ago when he was the Sonics, I would say hell yeah to this deal. Now, meow, he is a insurance on a off night in case our offense gets stuck.
If Tracy doesn't have to do everything on offense, then I think you will see better defensive effort out of him. Remember he stepped he defensive rebounding up during the playoffs. Having piece of mind that he will not have to be the lone playmaker will be another benefit. The Barry signing will help the rotation so much with the potential versatility of Adelman's line-ups. Having Rafer, Barry and Tracy in at the same time could be quite interesting on the offensive end. Also, don't forget that Scola should start getting more favorable calls starting this year (that he should have gotten last year, especially in the playoffs). Good first move Morey...
I remember we were trying to sign him years ago to be our PG from the Sonics, he went to the Spurs instead. So he can fill in the 1, 2 or 3 spots depending on matchups and fill in for PG duties in a pinch...good short term signing, takes away some pressure off Aaron Brooks and Donte Green to perform and contribute right away. Depends on how Adelman wants to use him though.
I only see Brent used when Yao is on the floor. Don't wet yourself as if he was still in his Sonics days. If you watched him play enough last two years with the Spurs, really there is nothing too exciting about his game right now. Think about it, Spurs is not stupid. He gives us an extra stand still shooter when Yao is on, that's all.
Even if he posts a 10.0 PER in the playoffs that will still be 16 points higher than Luther Head's -6. Can you imagine how much of a difference that will make??? It will actually allow Mcgrady to catch his breath during a game! I'm also going to venture a guess that McGrady's PER improvement during the regular season (18.50 to ???) will be more than the improvement the Rockets get from Head to Barry (13.68 to ???). And for what it's worth, Barry posted a 16.74 PER last year and 14.27 PER in the playoffs, so take that, guy who thinks Barry sucks in the playoffs just bc he scores few points.
