Rockets re-acquire Josh Smith in trade with Clippers

We need 5 capable scorers at all times, that's why starting smith is important. Clint and jones aren't good enough to finish games. They will fair much better with a Brewer, Lawson, Thorton, lineup

 

Let's put a bet. Which game does Josh Smith airball his first 3 pointer?

Depending on how bad Dwight's feeling, Capela is the current starting rim protector.

 

Uhhh, I'd tap the brakes a bit on that, given how the Rockets have played so far this year. The Rockets issues are a lot bigger than just Jsmith, defensive want-to being a big one. Jsmith not exactly a noted lock down defender. BUT getting him back might improve the team's psyche, which is what it seems a lot of their issues do boil down to. But does getting Smith turn a 22-22 team into a 37-6 team? I wouldn't leap to that conclusion.

 

Josh Smith was pivotal last year in the series against the Clippers. His shot selection may not be great, but he is a good passer and good defender.

I am also holding out hope that he will bring out the best in Ty Lawson and maybe get Dwight some easy alley oops!

A few years ago wouldve been the best bench in the league. Now Im just hoping for average.

I've always advocated for Josh Smith even before the Rockets acquired him the first time, but this might be too little, too late from Maury.

 

Hopefully he is not another Lawson

 

I am all for it, but I want to point out that we have acquired yet another role player who can't shoot.

Can't we find some 2 way players PLEASE??? That is what the Spurs and the Warriors do, you know the teams at the TOP.

I wouldn't have done it. He had a chance to stay and chose to leave and we wouldn't have had to give anything for him. He made his bead I would've let him lay in it.

 

Can the rockets still trade him back to LA Clippers in a few months , would be fun

 

or he can re sign again with the clips in the off season lol
