Well geeeeeee...... I look at all the teams with higher viewership than the Rockets... and I see a bunch of crappy teams in big markets... AND all the teams that everyone complains get so much more media attention and love than the Rockets (GS, OKC, Spurs...). 3rd best record in the league - but only 9th on viewership.... hmmmm

Well heck! That almost makes one think that all this 'media conspiracy' is actually networks trying to pander to teams/fans with greater viewership... hmmmm... could all this 'media conspiracy' merely be an effort on the part of networks to try to drive their viewership and profits?

    nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh couldn't be.......... ;) lol

This. Not just that. People in Chicago actually care about the Bulls. Not many Houstonians care about the Rockets if we're being honest. I wonder where the Texans are in terms of viewership.

The Rockets were basically unwatchable last year and weren't that fun for the casual fan to watch in 14-15 either. It will take more than 1 season for the casual fans to come around and start watching this team. Being in the top 10 is still pretty good.

Not really - SA has been winning rings for the last 20 years and has been consistently good in that span. They are going to not only pull SA and Austin and pretty much most of Texas outside Houston and Dallas but also going to draw more fans in other markets for being that good.

GS vs SA is must see TV for the entire bay area, so is CLE vs SA. Those three teams are going to pull each others markets and pull markets like Hou, LA, Tor, etc because they are measuring stick teams. We aren't at that level.

Also consider that championship teams create fans in all markets. The Lakers are America's team. But the Heat, Spurs, Lakers, and probably Warriors and Cavs now - are creating new fans across the country.

The other teams are just massive markets - so massive that their own fan bases tip the scales.
