?

Do you think signing Marc Gasol to 4-years, $55M is a good deal for the Rockets?

You're right. Let's just hope for the best. It has been awfully quiet.

there is nothing to read into, he doesn't have a contract, therefore he isn't practicing

What's intriguing tho, with two weeks left before season opener, why hasn't he signed Grizzlies offer yet? Which is said to be more than any other team could offer.

apples and oranges. Gasol is a free agent, first round rookies are already under team control.

Because Gasol needs a 2nd team to create leverage to negotiate a better contract with Memphis. The Rockets 4-yr offer sheet is at a higher salary per year than the Grizz current 5-yr offer.

that only gives the home team an advantage at re-signing him. the fact remains he is a free agent

There are so many conflicting reports I don't know who to believe.

Aldridge and Spears said they matched the offer sheet while Adrian Woj is reporting no offer sheet has even been considered.

    LOL

This is one of those times when you have to step back and think about the situation.

Why would Gasol sign an offer sheet for less $$$ than the Grizz have already offered?

He is using us to try to get them to add that 5th year, if he truly wanted to come here, he would have signed it already.

Morey is trying to convince him to do that, but his agent is probably saying....hold on....the Grizz will come up.

I think this has less than 1% chance of actually happening. This is Chris Bosh part 2.

I think the confusion comes from the Grizz owner stating they would match an offer sheet once the Rockets put it on the table. that's probably why Houston hasn't made an official offer, and is trying to negotiate a SnT

Even if it's a 1% shot, you have to go for it.

What do we have to lose?

Either we get him and he's our franchise center for the next 10 years and finally someone to build around or we help cripple the Grizzlies financially for the next decade.

That makes sense but what would the Grizzlies want from us?

I think we are trying to find a third team to send a center to the Grizzlies
