Ok, just realised I can't edit my previus post, so I'll say it here The 1st few questions are about his family, brother Zoran specificaly, what was the 1st thing he did when he got home, what he missed most while he was in USA and other stuff like that, that you aren't really interested in. In the question about how he felt when he switched from PHX to HOU he said among other things that he wishes to stay in HOU, cuz he's happy that the coach gave him a chance that he took with both hands etc.. He also stated that NBA is a buisness and you can't get too attached to a City or players because you can get traded 3-4 times in a single season and thats just something a player in the NBA has to learn to deal with. Quoting him talking about McHale: "He was an amazing player, he's a great coach. You can see that he has a lot of playing exp, he brought that into our team. He's kinnda very different from every other coach I've had in my career. He's funny, makes jokes. He's a friend to us, and that was especially great to me since he created an ambient in the team that I really like." "We have 4 coaches, they split the 66 games amongs themself, analyze the opponents and then go trough it with us. McHale then takes the main role again during games and when it's needed he can be hard and also set his foot down." "He is especially motivated when we play all the great teams (directed at the LA game comment)" Fav court: Staple Center LA Then it goes on a bit about Anze Kopitar and how they interact as 2 Slovenians playing at the top level in NA Leagues. He says he watches his games when he can etc... Then it goes on about his training... Here's a few interesting questions: Q: Who wins when you play 1v1 against Zoran? A: Hard question, since when I come home I'm tired and he's still in his top shape playing his season. He's stronger and taller but I'm faster. It would be a great matchup, but I dont know how it would go. Q: Any ritual before you go on court to play a game? A: I get to the court 3 hours before the game. Get some therapy, massage. Then I go on the court and just shoot for about 30 minutes. Then I go back to the lockerroom, sit down, listen to music and try to concentrate on the game. Q: How do you explain your recent huge stats improvement? A: Hah, it's the minutes. *laughs* Well McHale gave me open room, to play like I want. And I think that helped a lot. Q: Are you guys (the team) main stars in HOU? Do you appear on TV in ad's etc.. ? A: Sadly no, the Texans are the main sports team in Houston. I think the reason is we dont get into playoffs so the interest fell a bit. But the fans we do have are great and support us. We work hard to give them what they come for. I think the saddest part are empty courts and people that come to the game to eat hotdogs not cheer for their team. Q: Are you in contact with Beno (Udrih)? A: Yeah, we talk a bit, but not much due to the lack of time. Sadly we only had 1 game against MIL this season. Q: Who do you think will win the NBA this season? L: I'd like to see SA win, but there's MIA and OKC, so it's gonna be a really interesting finish to the season. They also talked about Shaq, he stated that he's the funniest player he's ever met. But they're not in contact much anymore after that 1st PHX season. Since he's working on TNT now and they dont broadcast our games etc.. Q: Pick your own dreamteam (coach icluded) A: Defenitly McHale as a coach. C Shaq, PF Nowitzki, SF Boki Nachbar, SG Durant. Hard decision but I guess this is what I'd pick. Q: What do you think about Slovenian national team? A: I hope no people will refuse to participate in the next Euro Championship since we're hosting it. I think with all of us there, we can make something special infront of our home crowd. I know I want to play as any role for my national team. There are a lot of quality players from our small country and I'm ready to do anything to help the team. They didn't talk about Free Agent status at all except that he goes back to the States on 1st of July, where he'll meet with the teams and then see whats what.
Thanks for the translation. My thoughts: 1. Good to hear that he enjoyed playing for Kevin McHale. I think he is sincere he has no reason not to like the guy who hands him a ton of minutes. 2. If he doesn't re-sign, it's clear that we need to blame the fans who don't show up and those who only show up to eat hot dogs. 3. I wonder if his brother Zoran is any kind of NBA prospect. Apparently he's had a decent year in Europe. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Zoran-Dragic-6303/stats/
surprising( but not really) that Boki is in his dream team. JVG held boki's talents back! Along with the ipad, we should lie to goran and say we will draft zoran in the next two years.
We can't draft Zoran. Zoran became automatically eligible (due to age) for the draft in 2011 and went undrafted. He is a free agent as far as NBA goes.
