That's a good point. Post play is now much harder than in the mid-90s rules. We saw how San Antonio pretty much neutralised Z-Bo, a great post player, with their half-zoning. However, this is not completely without a cost, you still compromise your defensive integrity, and had Memphis had decent shooters, they would have countered effectively. If I was defending a Howard PnR, I would similarly give-up on something, the least dangerous poison. Maybe the way Rudy T. Was defending the PnR: the big stays with roll man and the guard ducks under the screen. This way you're preventing a dunk (if the big switches) or a layup (if the guard tries to go over the screen but can't), but concede an open mid-range jumper. Make Lin and Harden beat you 16-18 footers.
After 4 games + 11.8. In those two starts he did not screw up... he had couple rebounds, steals, blocks and in those games the team went on to leads. Don't get me wrong. I also think he might be immature (homeless incident and some boneheaded plays) but he is able to stay on the court, averaging 2 Fouls a game and that is quite an accomplishment. To get on the court and be able to stay there and get better. DMO can't do that right now. He can't effectively help out on Defense without fouling. As of now.
i don't think garcia would've figure it out he's a good defender if we didn't put him on durant all of a sudden he's a D and 3s guy

Dang Memphis is projected to be really bad this year if preseason is any indicator. Chicago vs Houston for finals!
Houston was tops in the league in point differential per game (+10.4); 106.7 for and 96.3 against. Chicago was next as +10.3.
Cool. Thanks! Your stats seem to slightly differ from the "official" ones, though. According to John Schuhmann, the Rockets were 1st in ORtg at 107.0 and 10th in DRtg at ???.
I used an approximation formula for possessions -- .976 x (FGA + 0.44*FTA + TOV - ORB). His figures may be more accurate.
