That's great to hear. I complained since last year that the intro they were using was so cheap and amateurish. With all the recent upgrades in presentation (new stadium, uniforms, intro, ect.), I hope they add better Rockets commercials to their list. Some aren't so bad, but others are just pathetically corny.
Okay, I have a clip of the intro, but the quality is pretty bad. I had to lower the quality to fit it on the 10 megs of webspace I have. If someone has 32 megs of space and would like to host it, I'll send you the entire file. Part 1 Part 2 Yes I know the camera work is crap. It's not easy to hold a tiny little camera still for more than a few seconds. B
Intro Here is a video I made, which again, is CRAPPY. I was late to the game so this view isnt from my seats, its actually a section that was angled but u should be able to see it. Plus, I was dumb and forgot that the video will be sideways and I dont know how to edit it to make it look right. I will make another vid when I go to the Bucks game next week.
How about throughout the entire game. They're usually more entertaining (and better looking) than the Rockets.
I got the video on my camera during the Kings game ( ) but I have nowhere to put it. I can upload it if someone has some web space (Clutch? )
I agree. The Project Big Star commercial is pretty annoying. And I don't what is it with the 6 pack ticket commercials, but that has been annoying me too. It's mainly the music.
You know what would be cool? If they actually had fireworks shooting down from the scoreboard like actual fire or flames or whatever coming from the spaceship.
Heh. Not sure how fireworks shooting down from the scoreboard would work. They'd just hit the floor and leave a burn. Probably won't be doing that. We do have fireworks that shoot up from the baseline into the rafters, though. We also do a simulated flame from the boosters on the Rocket. We'll probably avoid doing an actual flame similar to the real Apollo rocket so that we don't roast our courtside seat holders or the occasional player or ref that happens to walk under it at the wrong time. There's no official rule against that in the NBA Operations Handbook, but I'd have to think they'd frown upon that. Tim
WOW, you guys really make it sound awesome! The bass rattles your seats as if there is a rocket taking off. I am hoping to make it down to Houston soon to attend a few games.
Tim, how hard would it be to put this introduction up on your Rockets.com website in Quicktime format? It would be great to see for us out-of-towners and perhaps get people more excited about going to the game. It would be a nice addition to your multimedia section.
We're working on it. It's a low light shooting situation, and the video we shot for last game didn't turn out that well, especially when you have to drop it down to an on-line friendly resolution. We'll get it shot right over the next several games, though. Tim
Thanks! I know my camera wasn't meant to shoot video like that! I almost didn't want to post my video because it doesn't do justice to the real thing. B
