The Clippers only look good on paper. They may be talented, but really they're just a team full of losers trying to pad their stats to make sure they're the next one in line for a big pay day when their rookie contract runs out. No way Seattle is better than a healty Rockets team. Their playoff run will be over this season. As for the Jazz, I think Kirilenko will be the key for them. A team with just Stockton and Malone at their age would not be going to the playoffs this season. I predict "spiderman" will end up being Nowitzki with defense. I think the Rockets could finish anywhere from 5-8; most likely 7.

    1. Kings
    2. Mavs
    3. Lakers
    4. Spurs
    5. Blazers
    6. Wolves
    7. Rockets
    8. Utah
    9. Clippers
    10. Sonics
    11. Suns
    12. Grizzlies
    13. Golden St.
    14. Denver

I'm going to have to disagree a little. If they put out their 5 against our 5, i think the clipps is better actually. Like anything else the games aren't played on paper. It really comes down to which one executes better and who can get the best shots which i give the edge to the clipps. However, i think the rockets are still in good shape to make the playoffs. The team that has fallen futher back is phoenix probably. If Ming is at least servicable, the rockets, clipps, jazz,t'wolves and sonics can contend for the 6,7 and 8 seeds. I just think portland has too much talent not to be at least 5th, but of course they weren't 5th last season. We'll just see.

lol the Vancouver grizzlies...oh my bad, the Memphis Grizzlies...haha, isn't that the team Steve Francis screwed? And what's with Shane Battier's head? Looks like he did too much ecstasy. Is there even any type of bears in Memphis? They should change they're name to something that actually has something to do with Memphis..like The Memphis Country Stars or something..haha. Or the Memphis Elvis Clones.

I'm a huge Rockets guy but I have to admit that the Clips look a little better than the Rocks right now. During their matchups last season, the Clips did finish the games alot stronger than the Rocks and w/ Miller, their offense will only run smoother. BUT, if Ming and Nacbar are ready to contribute at least by the all-star break, I'm more than confident that the Rocks will make the playoffs. They are better than the Suns & Jazz and they are right there w/ the Clips and Blazers, Sonics and TWolves. Healthy, the Rocks are a 6 or 7 seed IMHO.

Oh and MemphisX, I know you're down w/ your squad and its admirable that you represent so hard but DAMN!!!! The Grizz better than the Rocks?

what are the rocks and grizz some kind of package deal? so when we make the playoffs we have to drag you with us like a little sister?

the grizz will fall short because they suck ass, plain and simple. there's some talent there but it's gonna be a while, a good while. i know you have to support your team on this board but with your rankings, man you can't call anyone a homer.

the rocks on paper have just as good of a team as the clippers and that's not being biased. if ming contributes right away, we're even better. imo, the rockets will battle with utah, seattle, minnesota, and the clippers for the final 3 spots.

I think the Cavs are extremely stupid for giving up Andre Miller for Darius Miles. Miller is one of the best point guards in the league, I think he is second best to Jason Kidd. He averaged 10.9 apg and the Cavs are shopping him? Complete utter stupidity. Evidently they think that Wagner is going to be a better player, I cant say I agree. For some reason people think that Darius Miles is good just because his game is exciting. They compare him to Garnett and how he is going to be so awesome. People need to wake up and smell the crap they're eating for breakfast and realize that it is all some big lie. This trade is very frustrating for me because I felt that if the Clippers ended up with either Baron Davis or Andre Miller that would end up putting them up over the hump and ultimately make the Playoffs. Now lets just keep our fingers crossed and hope the Mavs pick up Rashard.:(

The Rockets are more talented than the Clippers, Jazz, Sonics, Wolves, Suns, and especially the Grizzlies.

    1. Kings
    2. Mavs
    3. Lakers
    4. Spurs
    5. Blazers
    6. Rockets
    7. Sonics
    8. Clippers

    9. Wolves
    10. Suns
    11. Jazz
    12. Warriors
    13. Grizzlies
    14. Nuggets

Expect the Sonics to miss the playoffs if they lose Rashard. Otherwise, there's no reason why they shouldn't finish in the same playoff spot as last year. They were a stronger team without Baker, and Desmond Mason is only getting better.

The Jazz barely made the 8th spot last year. They are only getting older, and they have lost Bryon Russell. How anyone can expect this team to make the playoffs is beyond me.

Expect Andre Miller's assist numbers to go down this year. His numbers were inflated with Cleveland because of their jumpshooting-based offense. The Clippers have a lot of good slashers, but no shooters. I expect their offense to struggle, though they will be athletic enough to make the final playoff spot.

The Wolves will collapse this year. The supporting cast around Garnett is getting older, and weaker. They will probably lose their starting center, and they have already lost Chauncy Billups, a key backup. They're finished.

As for the Rockets, Steve Francis (if injury free) is only going to get better, as will Cuttino Mobley and Eddie Griffin. With Rice and Taylor healthy, the Rockets have two quality veterans who can flat out score.

Yao Ming can only help this team. If Cato can score 8 points on alley-oops from Francis, then Yao will be able to score at least 12, since he is a far better shooter.

The Rockets are deep and talented. When I think of them, I think of the great Blazers team of the 98-99 season. They had an excellent (and tall) center in Arvydas Sabonis, and a superb collection of quality players. No player on that team averaged over 13 ppg, yet they were the third seed.

Talent wins in this league, and the Rockets have a lot of it. It all comes down to health.

Miles is only 20, i bet no one thought t mac, or kobe would be this good. Give him 1 or 2 more years then we will see why they traded for him. At the worst he would be like Marion, at the best miles would be like T mac. He got the skills , just add experience, and a jump shot(which he will get) and there you go a super star. Miller is an elton brand player. He's good but not great.

I have to agree that Miles is all hype, the only dominating things about his game have been open court, fast break dunks. As for Andre Miller, there's no way this guy is the second best point guard in the league, maybe the second best passer. The Clippers may have improved their team, but they're still not better than the Rockets. The Grizzlies better than the Rockets??? hahahahaha. What a joke.
