Did you actually watch the game? There was a steady diet of Gordon and Rivers iso's, or just plain old EG dribble up 3's. That was the offense, along with a lot of running due to careless Jazz TO's - look at Gordon's highlight tape, there's a couple of high screen/dribble hand off type plays to get him the ball from PJ while moving but that was as complex as it got, it was just iso-pick-iso. 64% of his FG were unassisted. It was the same sets they normally run otherwise, with EG and Rivers playing the Beard-Brody roles. They made a concerted effort to make Gobert's life miserable by getting the switch on him up high and it worked pretty well. Watch the games, especially ones like last night! it was fun!
your post was literally the opposite of what happened last night. look at all the "movement" try actually watching the game
You're right bro, however, we did move the ball much better. I know for a fact that players hustle more on defense when they are included on the offense. House and Rivers balled out with 19 and 21 points respectively. Why, because the got more shots. All we need from James and Russell is 25 a game, while focused on getting everyone else involved.
If the Rockets were moving the ball so much, surely they would’ve had more than just 14 assists in a game where they shot 47% from the field and made 38 shots no?
It was basically the same Rockets except Harden & Westbrook were played by Gordon and Rivers. Same ISO's, different guys.
STFU But it would be nice if MDA get his head out of his A*S and starts to expand the rotation and give the starters rest.
I just wish Harden could shoot off the catch sometimes. There is no doubt the ball moves a lot more without Harden or Russ since they both need to have the ball for 1/3 of the shot clock but our offense is still iso driven. I do like the cuts and back screens. I also think Harden just doesn't trust his teammates when games are tight and maybe this stretch can show him it's ok to let Austin and Gordon run the show a little bit.
Research shows that the Rockets are 1-0 when Eric Gordon scores 50 points. I'll go into further detail at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.
Rockets win (and have won) by 20 vs. Jazz instead of 9 if Harden/Russ played. Great great win but enough with the stupidity.
