These guys are REALLY going to be motivated playing for a team that tried to unload them midway through the season. Sending DMO away was understandable, but MT, damn what a freaking reality check...you're nothing but a number in the system man.

i agree but that may just be the likely scenario. he's in a tough position as far as his future but his priority should be just getting back healthy and being able to play in this league night in and night out. If that happens things will fall into place for him whether here or somewhere else. Best of luck to him.

There is a lot of misinformation going on here. Someone says something that makes sense to them, then someone else uses that as their source.

The league does not appoint a doctor to do the physicals after trades. That is not the case at all. The teams use their own medical staff and whatever specialist they want to pay for. Only after they request to void the contract does the request and medical proof go in front of the NBA league office for the NBA's Medical Director to review. But he doesn't conduct his own physical.

Conspiracy theorist can still say it was Buyer's Remorse and not any true findings, but it's really, really bad for doctors to get caught in lies...so, very doubtful a specialist will lie for a freaking basketball team. Question remains, I suppose, what type of proof they need to submit. That's what is not clear. The Verticle says DET docs wouldn't clear him to play. Is that enough, or would it require more than that.

I think misinformation that an NBA appointed doctor conducts physical to OK the trade comes from the CBA rule covering requested a Disabled Player Exception. Then it is an NBA appointed doctor who determines if the player is indeed unable to play for the remainder of the season or following one. But for trades, teams use their own doctors and can hire their own specialists for physicals. But the request to void the contract goes through review by the NBA's Medical Director.

I like both their shooting. D-mo's back wasn't hampering him too much in D League. And its not like JBB will OVER play either of them. Not while he's giving Brewer max minutes at every position except C.

Yeah, and all a doctor has to say is that "His risk of re-injury" is higher....let's not forget who is PAYING the doctor....if the Pistons had buyers remorse, this would not be a hard thing to do.

because the D-league has tons of contact and physicality there right. It doesn't even come close to NBA level.

Dmo doesn't play a physical game - he is a finesse player.....heck the entire league is finesse these days.

Well, I dunno what to make of this whole mess. But I'll tell you one thing: Those of you who are rationalizing that things can't get worse ... Things can always, always get worse.

it doesn't matter how he plays. Does that stop the other bigs from not touching him? The fact that he's a big in the NBA who isn't considered physical makes it even worse. being a "finesse" player is irrelevant when it comes to the contact he will take from teams, particularity big in this league.

This. Plus, it's very possible that D-League is more physical. Players want to make NBA teams, and are doing anything to achieve that goal, even playing rougher than usual.

Well lots of players have had that surgery - Dekker, Howard, DMo, Reddick - and still play fine.

no that's 100% false. D-league is a pick up game. And also not everyone in the D-league is playing because they are all striving to make the league.

No, that's not enough. It's not some doctors note. The NBA Medical Director, Les Alexander, DMo and his agent, and the NBA Player's Association would require more than that. And Doctors will not lie just for a freaking dollar, as this can become subpeonaed later. Their rep is too important.

You do know Mobley sued the Knicks for fabricating the extent of his physical, right?

Got to love these conspiracy theories, which now include Doctors fabricating evidence.

To be fair, you just provided an example where it seems there may have been some fabrication of evidence.

I'm with you, I don't see that happening here, or ever... but every once in a while, you never know.
