I seriously wouldn't want DJones, don't get fooled by his stats in Milwaukee. that guy is a nightmare for a team. Do you wonder why he has never had success in staying in a team given his production? Why was he frequently cut? All you need to do is to see him stop at midcourt while seeing the other team's point guard go all the way for a break-away layup; or him turning his head with the "who cares" face while his opponent crosses him over at the elbow and go in for a dish or layup...
He's REALLY heartless on defense man! Do you know he's among the least favorite (=most hated) player in Milwaukee?
Anyways, he's still pretty good for a backup for 15-20mins. Under VG, he'll either play into the system or stay on the end of the bench in Pike-style -- a waste of roster space/$$$. Why sign another PG while we have Lue and probly Gaines at it? Well, Jones is good at the half court game.

Just my opinion... :( :( as do others who watch the bucks

Sometimes I think we forget that we are talking about our 3rd or 4th best player (behind McGrady/Yao) on our roster. Not a "superstar PG"

The question is, can JVG get a PG that fits within our system? Can JVG help that player, play better defense? Can that player improve just by playing with McGrady/Yao?

I think we need to look at our PG aquision in the context of the Rockets. Not whether or not that PG was/or wasn't able to succeed on their other teams.

Wanna see Fisher struggle? Trade Kobe and Shaq. Heh...anyways...

Lets look at our PG acquisition in context of McGrady and Yao. We're building a team. Not just five individual players. I think we've been brainwashed by "Francis ball" to think that we can play as team.

I think another option waiting in the winds is Jason Terry. He makes 7m per and is in th last yr of his deal. If the Rockets really wanted him, they could offer the te to atl for him and that would give them more space. Just a thought.

I actually think Van Exel is a good choice. Dallad messed up letting him go.

If it Werent for Nick the Quick, noway the Mavs could have beaten the kings in the playoffs a couple of years ago.

I think ATL has enough cap space. They just need players to start wanting to go there. They'd probably want some players in return for Terry, since their roster is nothing right now, especially if they traded Terry.

Yes. He's an option too. Two yeara ago he had a TO rate of 3.0. But he's drop it a bit last year to 2.8. So, he's improved.

I was skeptical a few years ago about him. But he's turned out to be a good PG. It's just that his team is crap.

Some feel that he was a scoring PG like Francis. But I don't think so. True, the guy can score from all over (16.8ppg, weak a 3pts), but a few years ago he had 7 apg. And based on watching him play he does seem to have very good handles; he doen't waste motion dribbling. He has a good one-two cross-over. Nice mid-range shooter and great a driving to the basket.

I worry that Terry will be playing to pad up his stats to get a bigger contract.

Hudson or Damon Jones. Hudson is good, athletic, and would come cheaper than what we were prepared to offer Barry. As previously mentioned on this thread, DJ seems to be very sound fundamentally, so if he comes as cheap as people think he will, then he may have the most value.

Snow is old, slow, and has a big contract for several more years (salary rising while games goes into the crapper).

Fisher is not good. Just because he hit a few open 3's playing with Shaq and Kobe a few years ago, does not make him good. Lakers got lit up by opposing PG's all playoffs, while Fisher shot 29%. Players are supposed to play ABOVE their potential in contract years.

Payton....I really don't know if he just took a nose-dive in terms of talent last year, or if Jackson/Triangle had a big part in that. If we could use the TE and have him for just one year, it may be worth the gamble.

If we signed Charlie Ward, I would start booing JVG. We did not not bring him in here to become NY Knicks South.

No one is going to know what Terry can do as a PG until he gets on a team that doesn't gasp like a beached fish for points.

I've been in ATL for years, and just wonder what Terry could have been with a competent team around him.

    David.

I'd take Mike James for cheap right now and be done with it.

    Two Words....

    Gary Payton

He wants a buyout from his contract if Shaq is traded (which will most likely happen)...and then we could swoop in and take him...
