My pictures weren't fantastic enough to warrant a thread of their own, so I will just post some of them here. Bill and Bull talking Rox! I wanted to get some pictures of Bull shooting his customary three's before the game.. unfortunately didn't get to do that. Next game I will have to get their earlier. Views from where we ate a very expensive dinner... and watching Chuck practice free throws. Watching pregame warmups from our seats... and this is the only picture I got of the Pacers dancers. Side note I was disappointed that the dancers didn't do the trampoline dunks like the Rockets dancers do before the fourth quarter. Just goes to show our team and their dancers are much better! LOL Lining up for the National Anthem... which was sung by a Dairy Farmer CEO. Someone must have more money than sense and bribed the Pacers to let him sing. Though he didn't do horrible.. other than changing the entire rhythm of the song. Getting ready to hear the Rockets starting line up... and I see Chuck is definitely not starting. Then have to explain to the fam how he lost the starting position (Scola made it pretty easy early in the game when he did an up and under near the basket ) Huddle up team!! Ready for Tip. The Rockets started their customary walk and hug before the game and at that point my brother turns to me and asks.. "Exactly how tall is Yao Ming 7-5?" "They list him at 7-6" He just shakes his head and says "He's huge, must get all the tips" "No," I reply, "just watch his jump." A second later I turn back and say "Though he should be able to beat Foster" Back to the court.. and indeed Yao has beaten Foster to the tip. Okay more photos in the next post....
There was a wee lack of defense in the first part of the first quarter... Tmac.. where is your man?? When Scola gets his second foul... imagine me looking worriedly at the bench until... shew, Chuck takes off his warmup and checks in with the team on the court. Of course then he proceeded to try too hard on offense and turned the ball over. I wonder if he could hear me saying "Don't dribble Chuck!" on the court! Rafer! Get around the screen don't leave Diener wide open to shoot! Okay I didn't actually get the shot, but this is the pass that led to Chuck's one and only basket of the game (hey it had to be immortalized! ) I was going get in please, get in. Shew! Yao shooting free throws. By the way I want to apologize for jinxing our big man on his first shots. As he walked up to the line the first time I told them he was shooting like 85% from the line. He then proceeded to miss. When he walked to the line to shoot the first defensive three second tech I told them, see Yao shoots the tech's. My brother then says "The center shoots the technicals?" "Yep, he's the best free throw shooter on the team" Then he missed another. So don't blame Bill, you can blame me! Luther getting the pass inside to Yao. Rockets defense... pretty spread out, but all close to the paint. They were daring the Pacers to only take outside shots, unfortunately the Pacers had a pretty good shooting night. Still more pictures to come!!
awesome pics glad that y'all went to a close game where the rockets won...nothing is more heart pounding and satisfying
AB gets into the game. I guess Luther had gotten hurt in the play during (before) the foul that sent Williams (I think it was him) but at the time I just thought Adelman was playing with the rotation again. I kept saying that he was so short... and my brother asks "How tall is he?" "Well he's like 5'10 or 5'11" My brother than says "Hey! That's a perfectly good height." It's all relative I guess, since that's his height. But I then put in "But you don't play professional basketball" After that the Pacers kept trying to defensively back Aaron into the basket.. thus proving my point that 5'11" isn't always perfectly good. Good transition defense. How proud I am when they beat nearly everyone on the Pacers down the court. The halftime score.. and the girl who did the halftime show. She threw bowls onto her head from her feet on a 10 ft high unicycle. Pretty entertaining actually. okay I still have more to go.. but I think I will just put them in without comments... this could get really long!
Thanks to jsmee2000 or we will miss your recap. Very nice recap and very good seat too. Don't forget to post the rest as you promised.
This was the three pictures I tried to take to stitch together to show the whole arena... didn't quite work, but you can see what I was trying to do. lol Thanks Jsmee for pointing to my thread. Here's the rest of the photos - sans commentary A blur in the top center of this picture was identified as Aaron Brooks! Novak playing defense! Tmac telling Steve Novak what to do. Click on that one, you can see a lot of detail in it. And you can play where's the Clutchfans. I know at least Jsmee is in there!
for Yoyo... that's the best I could get of your man Steve! I did get him shooting in the second half shoot around on video... but I am still working on getting that up. Visual proof that Tmac moves in the offense. Carl's second? NBA jump ball. Carl at the free throw line. Our last time out.
That's all the good ones. The rest are all blurry and stuff. I had a great time. Next time we have to do it Clutchfans style and make some real noise.
Yep, I am in section 16 row 14...wearing Rockets red and holding my stomach trying not to throw up as we gave away the lead in the fourth quarter.
thanks. I wish I had been closer to the floor. The camera I was using was brand new (a Christmas gift) so I was playing with the zoom and such to see how much detail I could get on the court. If I had been closer I think I could have gotten some really good ones.
