As long as we're doing something like that... HOU gets M.Gasol, Rudy F, Outlaw, J.Richardson, two deadweight contracts in Jaric and Buckner MEM gets Barbosa, Dorsey (Memphis kid) PHO gets Tmac, Bayless and Budinger (both Arizona kids), J.Taylor POR gets Battier, Hayes, Houston's 1st and 2nd round picks in 2010 So for us it would be: Tmac, Battier, Hayes, Dorsey, Budinger, J.Taylor for M.Gasol, Rudy, Outlaw, JRich, Jaric, Buckner M.Gasol/ Scola/Landry Ariza/Outlaw JRich/Rudy F Brooks/Lowry Just sign Oberto for the minimum (how could he resist playing with Gasol, Scola, and Rudy?) and we're good to go.
Morey needs to use the MLE that we were able to save and get Chandler or Dalembert ASAP! Do it Moreyyyy!!!
We can send Barry and Cook to Portland for Przy. Portland saves about 1.3m this year so they have enuf to sign Odom.
How about another trade with Portland. Brooks and Battier for Fernandez and Przybilla. We give up defense on the wing for extra scoring. Ariza will be our main defender. We get a defender in the paint. They get defense on the wing and scoring at the point. The length of contracts and ages of the players involved are all pretty equal. You have to hope that Fernandez will have a break out year with the extra playing time. I think he has more upside than Brooks. Battier for Przybilla is a tough move, but at this point we desperately need a center. Our starting line up. Lowry Fernandez Ariza Scola Przybilla This team might win 35-40 games and we will retain a solid young core and cap flexibility.
I still think the following team is better than fernandez & przy's team. Brooks Battier Ariza Scola Hayes ^^ And I dont think portland will trade przy at this moment. I think Portland should try to sign odom because they have salaray cap.
Not as a longterm solution or anything, but I really like JaVale Mcgee from the Wizards and Ryan Hollins from the Mavs, with Hollins obviously being the more likely case since the Mavs signed Gortat. Both are fairly young and athletic big guys. What do you guys think?
must agree... Houston has really been spoiled having a top 3 center (Hayes [Elvin, not Chuck], Moses, Sampson, Hakeem, and Yao) for most of the last 35+ years. to suddenly go from having Yao Ming to having NO center and looking through the scraps of the pathetic heap of centers left is a truly a sad moment.
beging competitive next season all depends on if we are willing to trade TMAC now or not???? my whole thing is that it all seems we want yao back so i say we make a trade with the intention of still building around yao while maintaining competitive and still looking to the future... i've come up with two trades that involve TMAC and battier TMAC Battier for Camby and Davis and we swap picks in next years draft trade brooks for fernandez 2010 Camby Scola Ariza Fernandez Davis Lee-MLE 2011 Yao Lee/Scola Ariza Fernandez/Clippers pick in swap Davis Camby money???? Trade 2 TMAC Battier for Chandler Peja and 2010 pick unprotected 2010 Chandler Scola Ariza Peja Brooks Lee-MLE 2011 Yao/Chandler Lee/scola Ariza Peja Brooks 2 most likely top 15 picks in 2010 draft
This offer is terrible. Brooks or Battier alone is worth the Blazers side of things. Including both has the rockets getting ripped off value wise.
Not really. I would rather have the young big with upside and have flexibility than what people think we can get. Jordan fills a need now and in the future. When started last yr as a rookie, he was almost a double-double plus blks. He's just a rrebounder/dunker/finisher, but that would be fine right now. Plus it would give the rockets more money to work with next summer. No one is falling for the banana in the tailpipe like the rockets did. It would also protect against yao not coming back.
Has anyone mentioned Drew Gooden yet? Good size 6-10, decent jumper, averaged 7 boards for the spurs last year. I think we can get him for a reasonable deal.
<strike>Marcin Gortat</strike> <strike>Zaza Pachulia</strike> Ryan Hollins Anderson Varejao <strike>Chris Andersen</strike> David Andersen (July 15 deadline) <strike>Raheed Wallace</strike> Theo Ratliff Rasho Nesterovic <strike>Antonio McDyess</strike> Channing Frye Chris Wilcox Mikki Moore Jason Collins Jamaal Magloire Sean Marks
Here is my fantasy trade scenrio that works but actually would benefit all 3 teams involved. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=nr53ep We get Amare and Redd...obivous Bucks get Battier for vetern leadership, Landry to replace Charlie V. and Barbosa which might be the hardest to do. Suns get TMAC for salary cap relief and Aaron Brooks as a succesor to Nash. While we still have the MLE to sign a backup point.
