And I think you can trade him on Dec 15th. So it'll be a while if we want to trade for him

 

I don't understand. Morey, based on his analysis, already decided Gortat is worth less money than what he is getting. Why would he want to trade for him now?
Especially giving up Battier?

We had our chance with Gortat. If Morey offered the full MLE in the first place, we may be talking to Orlando right now about what it would take for them not to match (maybe a draft pick?)
As it is, Dallas are the ones with that opportunity now. We have already decided he is not worth the money.

 

Well Im just making up a random scenario. I didn't get this trade idea from a legitimate source. just some random trade people thought of. Not recommending it nor dismissing it. just layin it out there.
