Hi you guys don't forget the rule to choose 1st and 2nd seeds , they must from different division. So LAL can never be the 2nd seed if he can't pass SAC, even he
could pass MIN. So as long as ROX keeps in 7th seeds, it'll always meet MIN.

Yep, changed my post a few minutes ago to reflect that. Doh! Not thinking clearly this morning.

By the way, though, this probably won't come to pass, but isn't it a mouthwatering thing to look at the standings and see that the Rockets are only three games out of home-court advantage in the playoffs? (SA 24 losses, Hou 27).

No way. We will not play lakers. Midwest leader is automatic second seed, and will play the 7th seed. Only if we can get #6th, then we will face lakers.

    it's really a dilemma.
want to bubble up to get the home-court advantage, at the same time, want to
    stay 7th to meet MIN.
actually I am pretty pity about MIN, and hope he could get the ring this year.
-- since it's reported the wolves in MINNISOTA/WISCONSIN emerged a lot this year, from 24 animals (year90-91?) to over 300 animals. ;)

Facing the Lakers in the 1st round is automatic failure. Will the Lakers be allowed to lose in the 1st round by the NBA? David Stern likes Yao, but I doubt he likes him more than the Lakers. Rockets should just stay in the #7 seed. Let the Lakers take on the #6 seed in the Grizzlies or the Mavericks.

If you look at Denver's remaining schedule, it's even more brutal than ours. I can't see them winning any more than 5 or 6 games, which would put them at 41 or 42 wins. I really think our magic number is more like 4 or 5 to secure a playoff berth.

No guarantee we'll get 4 or 5, but we've got GS twice, Portland, Toronto, Milwaukee, Denver twice, and the Clippers (i'm not even including Seattle or Memphis). It's almost ridiculous to think we can't win 4 or 5 of those games. Our record finishing the season won't be pretty, but I think we'll comfortably make the playoffs.

That punk only gets some breaks guarding Yao. If he wrestles TD, KG or other star C or PF the way he did to Yao, he will foul out in the first half.
