Is there any potential in us serving as a middleman to redirect Dame elsewhere after acquiring him? Or is that unrealistic?

Didn't the "Hawks version of Cyberx" say we were interested in moving up to Cade in a big Lillard trade (Lillard to Toronto)?

Lillard and Wall would be unstoppable.

Just say no. Makes no sense for any team, let alone this team.

If Lillard gets traded for a price higher than Harden's, there's certainly a scenario where no under 30 superstar is ever traded again, without pulling an ultimate leverage move and assassinating his trade value.

A Lillard trade is bad for the entire league.

The NBA should have stepped in on Harden, and now it may be too late to save the league from becoming a glorified AAU league. Though I realize this is a slightly different scenario...

Don't get me wrong. I still sit on a hemorrhoid-surgery donut after what Dame did to us all those years ago ("James, Chandler, don't switch don't switch don't swi---GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD-DAMN-it, you SWITCHED!" --- Kevin McHale)

Hell no to Dame unless we do what the Clippers did and immediately sign a superstar FA afterwards like Kawhi Leonard

Lillard is possibly the worst defender in the league that gets regular playing time. The Blazers have had to try and cover his defensive deficiencies with multiple defenders that can switch and are mobile. The Blazers SHOULD be trying to trade for Christian Wood to team with Covington inside so they can switch with length.

I don't think that Stone really has a master plan here with one avenue only, but I do think that the best case scenario he's gunning for is this. I think the first priority is having some sort of non-tampering tampering way of communicating with Lillard's team on how he could help lure a free agent with him if they traded for him, and painting that vision in his head. The only issue I see though is that there's really nobody in free agency like Kawhi (except for Kawhi of course but he's out for the year so that'll be interesting, and I doubt he wants to leave LA).

Or maybe they think they have enough assets to pull off a subsequent trade for someone like Beal.

Either way though I think he's just being opportunistic, but the Rockets do have some good assets now and theyve got some larger contracts so there's a chance, but I don't think for a second he does this trade without a subsequent move, and without some tampering to get Lillard and his agent involved in the plan.

Getting involved as a 3rd team would be fine, especially if we can figure a way to unload EG or Wall in the process. Doubtful we can make that happen, but Stone is well known for his diligence. I'm not worried about the Rockets doing anything stupid here.

Let's do it. Give them Wall, 23, 24, and all our non-Brooklyn non-Rockets future FRPs for Dame and filler (5 total FRPs). Then take Mobley at 2.

    KPJ
    Dame
    Tate
    Wood
    Mobley

    Let's go!

(Yes, I know this is absurd.)

    So
    Wall
    PorterJr
    MartinJr
    Augustin.
    Detroit's pick
    Milwaukee's pick
    No 2
    1 unprotected Rockets picks
    3 unprotected pick swap

    For
    Lillard
    Nurkic
    Covington
    Jones

    Starters. Rotation. Squad
    Nurkic ------- F/A
    Wood. Covington. 24
    Tate House 23
    Jones Gordon. Thomas
    Lillard Bradley Brooks

    Not sure that's good enough.
Maybe if you can package future picks to upgrade Gordon?

Is Miami ready to trade Butler? For the right package.

Well, then, @SamFisher........is a c***. But I love you anyway.
And @J.R......is a bigger c*** (but I love you anyway) for pointing out Sam's c*** posts.

OK, so, if there's any truth to this, which I denied before, then I can see trading for the #13 or whatever and offering that if acquired with future semi-worthless first round picks AND John Wall for Dame and Bob Covington. BUT the #2 pick? Sacrosanct.

I'd only take Lillard for this swap if the Blazers included Melo.
