You can't choke in the 4th quarter if you don't play the game. I hope things get worked out these things are happening way too often and no one seems to want to find out how to fix the problem.

I disagree but I understand your sentiment, so fair enough.

I think maybe even more than usual (because of this year), I am clinging to sports like Gollum to his ring.

there’s been plenty of holdouts before. Lockouts. Etc.

What are the owners going to do here?

hiw does hurting their pocket advance the cause?

    It doesn’t make sense.

Hence my point. The players know what they’re advocating for. But they do t seem to have thought through the best way to do that.

No, it gets ignored because people don’t want to think about it, and it’s easy to just ignore some tweets or IG posts and go on about your day acting like nothing is going on out in the world. It’s easy to give a 1 second glance at BLM painted on the side of the court, and then go on and enjoy the game not giving what the players are fighting for a second thought.

Kapernick kneeled, and he told us why. Still he is a SOB, a punk who’s disrespecting the army, and all other sorts of hideous things people were calling him. For freaking kneeling...

Does it get more peaceful and harmless than that?

People are tired of seeing these videos. People are tired of seeing things like the Ahmaud Arbery murder where he gets hunted and killed in an unlawful attempt at a citizens arrest, and the killers don’t get charged for months and would have gotten away with it if they didn’t release the video they took of his death. The local DAs were trying their hardest to cover everything up. Let that have been a black man that tried a citizens arrest. Cops probably pull up and shoot him. The way people were trying to justify Arbery’s death was absolutely sickening and disgusting. People are tired of police overstepping their bounds, often with no repercussions. U can do everything right like Philando Castile did, still get shot and killed in front of your girlfriend and young daughter, and the police offer still gets away with it. His young daughter must be traumatized for life. What about Jacob Blake’s 3 kids. They saw their father get shot in the back 7 times right in front of them. I see a lifetime of nightmares and PTSD unless they get some serious counseling. Don’t even get me started on George Floyd. Dylan Roof killed 9 people, and they take his ass to Burger King. Some white kid killed 2 protesters last night in that same Wisconsin area, and they don’t even immediately arrest him.

A lot of these killings I can barely stomach to watch. For many of them, my heart will start racing, and I start breathing heavy. The George Floyd video was very bad for me, especially at the point when he screamed out for his mom as he knew he was about to die, but there was nothing he could do stop it. So no, I don’t give a damn about “fans” talking about they’re done. They can all gtfo acting like the players owe them something.

“I’m canceling my season tickets” ...cancel them, and then gtfo and don’t return

support Russ on the court, but then when he wants to take a stand for something off the court that affects him and he believes in, it’s “I’m done with him”...that’s the attitude of these so called “fans”

I was never trying to play that card, like at all.

I never once said I would stop watching. Feel free to go back and try to read if you are capable.

Wow. You and @YOLO still trying to learn how to read, or just blatantly attacked based on a pre-determined stereotype you laid out for me.

Anyway, I'm not going anywhere, never said I was, just furious and ranting because I don't think this helps anyone. I personally think this execution is a lose-lose for all sides.

Like I told yolo feel free to go back and read. Not sure where you are getting the "I'm cancelling my season tickets" quotes from me.

Absolutely not....I think all cops should wait until a person disobeys them multiple times and actually has a weapon in their hand before acting. I know if it were you...you would, right ? I mean just because people disrespect them by throwing stuff at them, burning their cars and police stations, cursing them, physically attacking them, throwing firecrackers, molotov cocktails etc. No reason to be on edge right ? Hey, if we are going to tell the story, we need to tell the WHOLE story. That's my take. Obeying an officer is not optional IMO. Why run if there is nothing to hide ?
    ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The real problem is oftentimes people don't know what STOP means. In a sexual situation, continuing after being told to stop, can and often does result in a charge of rape. Although there can certainly be rogue cops, being told to STOP by a policeman doesn't mean it's optional based on what you want to do. Stop again means STOP.

It's amazing that officer Dort who was guarding his friend's business during the riot (yes riot) and was killed..his life doesn't seem to "matter". The black on black crime in Chicago doesn't seem to "matter"...ditto New York homicides etc.,etc. I don't believe that the value of one life is more valuable than another. And yet, that's not what we see. Sad, very sad.
So, shooting people who are told to stop is justified? I mean, really?

When youre speaking about fans, you’ve clearly made your complaining as part of that and that you speak for it.

To your point about my quote, none of us know all the facts yet. That's what leads to the outbursts. What if your brother was the cop, and a guy who resists pulls a gun and shoots him? Wouldn't you have rather known the facts before condemning the officer?

That's all I'm asking. Know the facts before over-reacting. There is way too much of that in today's knee jerk society.

my post wasn’t only for u, it’s for anyone who’s crying about what the players are doing and/or talking about how they’re done or cancelling their season tickets

y’all would have no problem if they were doing the same ol’ useless Twitter posts and IG messages...news flash, protests don’t mean anything if they don’t make anybody uncomfortable

it should be. But again...we’ve lost our ability to negotiate between the two sides. Lots of preachiness right now...what I described is the real path to opening and changing minds.

A lot of you guys are terrible, both sides have valid points and both sides of this should be respected in their beliefs, whether you support what NBA/players are doing or have had it and moving on from the NBA.
As one would expect all of this was not just about a singular issue, but a lot of it is about politics - read your guys arguments. Listen to what some of the players/coaches have said, Doc Rivers gave a great talk the other day, was in tears, but 30% of it was about the issue and the other 70% of it was about politics and him not liking the republicans, that tells you a lot. In the end, I see the same guys who constantly put people down that don't agree with them in the D&D, doing it here - which more validates my point and which is why you should keep your political thoughts there.

Hopefully in the end we can fix some of these issues, cause no matter what is said, this is a great country, but cops need some training and society needs some training, if everybody behaves like they are supposed to these problems probably go away.

what you just said is why the left can’t make any progress with the right. You lead with an implication of racism, at a global level, and the conversation shuts down. It’s now my tribe vs yours.

The assumption of racism will get you nowhere with the right. In fact, they will label you the racist.

Whew this thread is getting hot. Chill out brothers. The bright side is that if the season continues, Westbrook will be well rested.

Enjoy some semi-relevant humor in the meantime. And know this is a JOKE. Burr is a comedian- don’t take it too seriously.
