The first time I was in Vegas on the weekend of 8/23, Houston was 15-1 at Mandalay Bay. Two weekends ago (10/3), they were down to 6-1 at Mandalay Bay.
Went to the California Hotel over the weekend with my in-laws...was absolutely floored to see they had the Rockets' NBA futures odds at 12-1 (this value ranked them around #8 - #12 overall). I asked the bookie if that was a current and updated figure and he said it was. If this is truly the case (I haven't had a chance to look anywhere else)...that is some serious respect from the bookies in town. Or...the California Hotel bookies are complete whack jobs and have no clue who is on the Rockets roster.
Glad to have someone else independently confirm this...especially from the Reno casinos. It never fails to amaze me how accurate the line setters are...so, personally, I'm really pumped up on the Rockets even moreso. And yes, having Morey as a GM probably has a huge effect on how others view the Rockets. That guy is a monster. Woot...will try to pick up a futures sheet from one of the casinos some time this week and post some official odds.
Actually, the Spurs and mavs look like very good bets.I can't believe Houston is higher than the Mavs.

3 to 1 for the Cavs. I would bet 200 on the Cavs, 100 on the Lakers, and 50 on the Celtics. Win $450 in the Cavs win it all, Lose $10 if the Lakers win it all, and lose $83 if the Celtics win it all.
Wow, I was reading this thread from the beginning thinking that it was posted today. I knew something was odd when the Rockets had the same odds as the Cavs. D'oh
