ariza and battier gone, rox gonna be torched without a true defender. i feel bad for ariza since they worked hard in getting him last year and he hasn't played with yao.

    True.

Like someone said, I don't think it would be both Ariza and Shane, I think it depends which player they are getting

Maybe then the Rockets can sign Ronnie Brewer with some of the MLE...

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Taylor
    Brewer/Budinger
    Bosh or Amare/ Patterson/Hayes
    Yao/JHill/Andresen

    thoughts?

My guess is Morey believes it is harder to get a player like Amare or Bosh than replace Ariza or Battier...

I think Morey would be able to find a defensive wing in FA.

... Bosh is not coming here, Amare in a S&T is far more possible....

"league sources" are notoriously untrustworthy. Just consider all the "done deal" nonsense we've been hearing the past week.

I don't understand how the Rockets can be offering Scola in a sign and trade unless they've already gotten his consent.

Unless we are taking Hedo Turkoglu with Bosh to play SF...

Brewer is a better defender than either Ariza or Battier at this point. Getting Amare in a S&T and not giving up much in return is a winning proposition... Brewer can't shoot to save his life, but would be a good signing

the problem is being left without a defender in the back court area. .....rip isnt one and he's much older anyway, dont want him...

salary is too high so it can't be both....gutsy on morey's part...begged ariza to sign here and then talked up scola about him staying...business is a b!tch...

Idk if it'll be Brewer but DM is a calculated man.

He will find a replacement. AB remains in Houston in this scenario, which is a big win for the Rockets.

    Smokescreen!!!

If true it would immediately drive Scola to sign with another team.

It sounds like false info spread by someone who is interested in causing much upset in the Rockets camp that they could loose concentration of their objectives. NOT TRUE!! :p

It doesn't make sense to me that he'd agree to it. As a restricted free agent, he benefits more from waiting. Toronto can't be that appealing to him.

Hopefully Toronto buys out Battier and we re-sign him.

This is interesting because the GS thread now makes sense, maybe its a three-way dance here with Phx and GS???

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Taylor
    Morrow/Budinger
    Amar'e or Bosh/Patterson/Hill
    Yao/B.Miller/Hill

That is a dam good offensive team with massive defensive holes lol...

so it seems we are not going to play any defense next year and just run and gun like how les always wanted it.

amare is a defensive liability and bosh (mr 230lbs) is a below average defender too...

whos going to guard the opposing perimeter stars without shane and ariza? chase? martin?????
