Barry is going to be 37 this year and played in a grand total of 31 games last season. As somebody somewhere else said, he's old, slow, and unathletic. Still probably better than Luther Head though. Hopefully, he has something left in the tank.

For the sake of the league, I hope the Suns pick up Miles so the Trailblazers have to eat his cap space. They make me nervous. As for Barry, if we get him for the LLE then how can anybody complain. When the Rockets hit threes, they can't be beat. Barry can hit threes.

If he's healthy and in shape during the playoffs then I would be okay with that.

Defense has to be measured in individual and team related terms. Stats don't tell the whole picture. I'm not saying Mo is a lock on defender but I have seen him play against quite a few teams. He was able to slow down backup 2 guards and even players like Jason Terry better than Bogans and Dooling with his physical presence and quickness.

I believe the Spurs can still offer him more, so Im not saying anything until it is official. But if it is true, I like the value for such a small sum of cash.

I hear you Leebigez, but why don't you let Morey finish making his moves before you critisize the guy every time somebody signs some other player that the rockets didn't. Barry for the LLE is a no brainer and I don't think he's as unathletic as you might think. Look how effective Kyle Korver is with Utah and he's not your best run jump athlete. Barry is a veteran with a brain that can shoot lights out behind the 3pt line and when the rockets eventually get their 3rd scorer the puzzle will all fit. It's obvious Rick Adelman wants Barry and feels that he fits in his offense.

Barry won't get any PT in SA, especially with Mason on board, i think he's gonna sign with us. he'll get more PT and he'll still be close to his family.

After Barry, can we please stop with the old guys? Horry has NOTHING to offer this team physically.

Barry is a great signing for the LEE. I don't even mind if they wait all summer to see if the Rockets can pay him .5 mil more (after the Landry thing gets settled if there is up to that much remaining from the MLE).

Usually for the LEE you get a 50/50 chance at a guy to be a decent bench addition. I would say there is a 80% chance Barry strengthens our bench.

And now we are still in total control of the Landry situation.

I would have liked Mo Evans better. But he was going to cost us more than half of the MLE--compromising our position with Landry--both in terms of whether we could sign Landry and the details of the signing. I doubt another team even messes with approaching Landry now.

Also, good news to Phx competitors. With their ownership being stingy it will be all but impossible for them to add what they need.

Exactly, Mason takes entirely Barry's combo guard back-up role when the Spurs need an extra shooter and ball handler. Makes little sense for either party.

Horry is better at being a thug than anyone we have. However no way we take up a roster spot unless Landry gets a ridiculous offer we pass on matching. I don't think it will happen.

I don't know, but there's probably a thread about it somewhere...
