If you know this, then he knows the same thing!! So, I ask you, "Why is he waiting"?

There is a reason he played 17mins a night. Its not because he had great players in front of him either. He's a situational player, period. He's 15-17 mins a night and he's a defensive liability because of age, and lack of strength and lateral quickness.

If you think no one is beating down Mo's agent door to sign him, look at what Mickael Pietrius signed for, and Mo's stats are better than his!!!!! That is why you do not wait.

I think 17 mpg makes you a rotation player, not a situational player.

i don't think it's either "wait and see or move on."

the rockets should extend offers for the LLE to a few other players while they wait to hear back.

the worst case scenario is Mr. Plan B accepts the offer before barry and in that case it's fair of the rockets to give barry a deadline so they don't lose both players.

17 mins is situational to me. 25 is rotation. Now u can say that 17 consistent minutes put u in the rotation, that's ur perogative, but that's 4mins a qt. That's 9th 10th type of player.

I think the Rockets need someone to play around 20 - 25 minutes per game. This will enable T-Mac and Shane to be fresher for the play-offs.

I think Landry's minutes go up next year. I would expect Battier minutes to go down a bit while Landry subs in some at SF. He might even sub in some for Yao if Adleman cuts Yao's minutes back. I don't see Landry taking Scola's minutes.

Has Barry made his decision? I thought Morely gave him a deadline of today to make a decision whether coming to the Rockets.

To you and me, its black and white. To him, probably not.

So to answer your question: Because its a career decision? Because its a family decision? Because its a life decision? Because he has a decision and thus the burden to comit to it?

Find me one free agent with better scoring efficiency than Barry, judging by TS% (which accounts for both 3 pointers and free throws attempted and made) or EFG% (accounting for 3s but not FTs).

Find that person then tell me that a team that needs shooting shouldn't go for Barry.

Agreed but how many games did he play in, and what is left in his tank?

Forgot to add that he can knock down open shots ie.(Luther Head in playoffs) and he's got a better basketball IQ than most of the players in the league. For the LLE its a no brainer. If Joe Dumars was after him you probably would be applauding him.

Man, I'm getting pretty nervous that he told Morey "no." :(

You're exactly right, but that's the way it is.

    Our options are:
    - decide the most that he might possibly be worth to us, and spend the difference between the MLE and that amount. If some team pays him more, that's just the way it goes. Problem with this option is, we might be leaving MLE on the table. If we reserve $4 mil for him, and spend the other $1.9 mil, when it turns out we could get him for $3 mil, we might have passed up some opportunities due to the lack of that other $1 mil.
    - try to spend the MLE without him, and be willing to let him walk. Problem here, it doesn't look like we have very good options for the MLE without Landry.
    - wait until he either signs an offer sheet with another team, or decides that he'll take whatever we're offering.
    - Offer him the best deal we possibly can, with a deadline.

I suspect we might just have to wait. I think Morey is the kind of guy that would rather wait him out, and get the best possible deal.
