Don't mean to pick on you...you know I appreciate you as a poster (especially your video clips)...but that's supposed to be "might as well". I see people get that wrong all the time and it bugs me. Although it's usually "mine as well" or "minus well". Never seen anyone use "minest" before...it's not even a word!

    :p

Rockets need to go out and pursue Maurice Evans!! Brent Barry is still fielding offers, if you can't sell him after a year of courting him, He Doesn't Want To Be Here!! Maurice Evans is much younger, he drives to the bucket, and he can hit the 3 @ 38%.

The Spurs are trying to get younger, not older!! If the Spurs, who have won 4 Championships in the last 10 years is going in that direction, why aren't the Rockets, who haven't won anything in 13 years.

If you are Brent Barry, you have earned the right to take time to make your decision.....

If the Rockets need to move on...they need to move on....Barry should do whatever is in his best interests....period.

I mean, I guess. It's just annoying that we have to wait on this guy again while he weighs his options and decides what best way to prostitute himself for another ring.

He wouldn't play in SA or Phoenix. Both his dad and brother retired as Rockets. Do we need to spell this out for him? ;)

I think the Rocks are going to get him. We have the bi-annual exception and the Suns don't. The Spurs might get him, but Barry would play more minutes here.

    Totally Agreed.

Sports fans don't do a very good job of sympathizing with that. Sports teams do what's in their best interest, atheletes should be able to do what's in their best interest. This is the guy's career.

I often wonder why people don't understand when players take the money? Would you work for a ****ty company who offered to pay you millions more than you would otherwise get with a better company?

I'm just saying that nothing has changed since the last time. The same teams are presuing him. He knew this was coming since the Spurs were eliminated, his agent already knows who can pay what. If he was the Spurs 1st option, they would have been on his phone at 11:01 p.m like the Rockets, Suns, or Lakers. The Spurs were going in a different direction and they got burned, now they are trying to back track and resign Barry, Finley, Horry, etc.

If I were the Rockets I would not continue to wait. I think Maurice Evans give us the same thing as Barry, plus without the injuries.

There is still plenty of time, and plenty of FA left on the market, too. Given the fact that Rockets are not throwing more than the LLE at anyone, there really is no hurry to make an offer to, say, Mo Evans. Not like anyone is beating down Mo's agent's doors to sign him.

There is nothing to sympathize about!! He is being recruited by the same TEAMS as last time. Either he Likes the Rockets or he doesn't, Either he likes the Lakers or he doesn't, Either he likes the Suns or he doesn't.

If I'm Daryl Morrey, I give him a deadline and I move on. Which according to Fox 26, Daryl did last night. If you wait in this business you find yourself STUCKOUT!!

What other FA would you rather have outside of Mo. Evans? Not restricted

barry probably want more money than the bi.

and rockets probably doesn't want to pay that much.

so at the end, he will probably go to teams such as suns who will pay with part of MLE

You don't think he has the ability to take all the available time he has to decide? Just as the Rockets have the ability to give a deadline?

Do you give Carl Landry the same deadline?

NO!! YES!! They can match any offer Landry obtains, so there is no need to give him a deadline.

Also, the situations are TOTALLY different. Phoenix has a brand new coach. Rockets will have Yao back. Spurs didn't give him any playing time when he came back....

This is why you issue a deadline on your offer.

Not knowing what Landry does puts us in a weak FA position. If we're really intent on signing him we can't negotiate with any other free agents. His agent is holding our MLE hostage.
