He has a slow/awkward yet effective release but as I explained in post #424 he takes so few three pointers because he plays close to the basket. He doesn't shy away from them because he can't hit them or takes too much time to set his feet.

    chicken or egg???

He plays close to the basket because he's too slow to set his feet and get off more 3 point shots. If he took more 3 point shots, his percentage would go down drastically.

I'm not criticizing his game. I've got great respect for what Childress has done with his game. And I think he is extremely cerebral in taking the ball to the rim. He's got a great career PPS, which means he is extremely efficient. But he is not nor will he ever be a volume 3 point shooter...........because he has a low, slow release, and he has to have his feet planted and squared up to maintain his accuracy.

This is why the Shawn Marion comparison is so spot on. Not only do they have the same playing style but their awkward-but-effective releases are similar too. You know how the saying goes, it doesn't have to be pretty. :)

Bob Allen on abc 13 mentioned yesterday night that Morey told him Barry will give him a definitive answer in a day or two if he'll take the Rox' offer (Today or tomorrow).

Good because we're talking about ice cream too much. But didn't someone say that channel 2 mentioned the same thing Sunday night, also saying "within 2 days," which would be yesterday or today?

I hope that doesn't like, anger him or something. I just want Barry to join our team so bad. I can't wait for tomorrow... So much stuff is going to happen.

I doubt if Barry is going to get upset. He has a professional attitude.

Agreed DD on Horry what do you think about Chris Anderson being mentioned as one the free agents the rockets are targeting?

Chris Anderson is a waste of a player on the Rockets, he can not spread the floor and would be behind Scola, Landry, and whomever else we have at PF/C....and he is one more drug addiction away from being out of the league.

    Pass....SERIOUSLY...pass.

Maggette, Pietrus and Jones committed to other teams today. That puts a little pressure on the Rockets to secure a vet swingman before there's no one left on the market.

Birdman might be a headcase, but he's also a live, athletic body who can finish well at the C/PF positions. He could help. If he gets his act together. Who knows, maybe the previous drug bust was the wake up call he needed.

If he comes here, I expect Loren Woods to go. Maybe even Landry.

We don't need him he doesn't fill an obvious need and he is a challenged offensive player, who hardly fits into Adelman's scheme.

Anderson was decent 3 years ago, but he never got off the bench for New Orleans......

I can't understand what the Rockets interest would be in this guy, there are no spots for him and he does nothing for the roster.

IMO this is the order of cuts barring a trade/s: Woods, Harris, Novak, then Francis.

I would rather Loren Woods than Anderson. I hope they resign Mutombo and save their money going after the birdman.
