WHo the hell cares who takes the last shot just as long as it goes in...thats not even good logic to not want to sign a player.

Your other arguement that Horry has nothing left is slightly better, but you mentioned the part about it being sweeter in two seperate posts...WHO CARES...

I'll tell you what would be sweet....winning a championship

Horry has always been rode hard about his effort during games, but always seems to be there when the time is right too hit the big shot. He's a vet, thats been there year after year,(Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan and now maybe Yao). I'm more comfortable with a proven vet, than a second year rookie with possible knee problems. Let's see, who has won more championships than Horry is this Basketball league? Don't get me wrong, Landry pulled his own weight last year, but he's still a unproven rookie.

As for Barry, take your pick. Luther head or Brent Barry? another proven veteran or a youngster that's disappeared in the playoffs the last couple of seasons?

Don't get me wrong we still need high energy guys, so keeping Landry, if he doesn't have knee problems would be awesome, but that is also a "what if?".

Anyhow, I'd love to be able to dust off my old school Horry Red & Yellow Rockets jersey!

One of my main concerns is, why haven't we addressed point guard yet?

Perhaps if we really did make an offer to Vujacic it is to simply get the Lakers to match so they wont have extra $$$ to sign more talent. Longshot, but maybe ;)

Full MLE at vujacic is a bad idea, but he does fit what we need.

    1) Barry turned us down last season, why would he come here now? I say he finishes his career with the Spurs. I would be suprised if he comes here.

    2) I don't want a washed up Horry. The guy is a waste of a roster spot IMO. I'd rather give that spot to the younger up and coming guys so we can develop them.

    3) I agree 100% to due your full due dilligence with Landry. He was not even close to the same after the knee injury. And if I'm not mistaken he had knee issues in college so this could potenially be a chronic problem. And we all with Yao and TMac we do not need another fragile player or get stuck with a bad contract. If he gets a ridiculous offer somewhere else, I have no problem with Joey Dorsey filling his role.

If this Vujacic stuff is true, then it may just be an attempt to restrict the Lakers from offering Landry a lot of money.

I read somewhere that the Lakers are very interested in Carl Landry and may offer a contract that the Rockets can't match (assuming the Rockets dip into the MLE enough on another player).

But the Lakers have Vujacic as a big part of their rotation and has come on strong lately for them in the playoffs. If they tie up money with Landry, then the Rockets tie up Vujacic with the MLE, the Lakers would not be able to match.

Of course this situation is essentially is trading an overpaid Landry for an overpaid Vujacic.

But my money's on Morey and his excellent intel people knowing the Lakers value Vujacic very much.

I think the "knee issue" is a ruse and we will sign him for whatever part or all of the MLE it takes, but if it is a real issue then obviously we should use the MLE to pursue a Pietrus or other to solve our backup swing problem. If Dorsey pans out he actually can play both backup PF and backup C.

    1) Morey states that Brent Barry most likely would have joined the Rockets before had Yao Ming not made his season ending announcement.

    2) I'd rather have a veteran on the roster than another project. Especially a vet of Horry's success. Greene and Brooks are enough projects this roster needs. McGrady and Yao need to play with vets who know how to win come playoff time. Who better than Horry and Barry?

    3) I agree with you here. If a team splurges on Landry offering him full MLE or more BEFORE his examinations, then peace out! Although, I think a healthy Landry is arguably the best power forward on the roster. With that said, I think Landry will be a Rocket next season.

Not to mention they see Greene as a potential 3/4 too......I think they want 4s who can stretch the defense......

Landry isn't a 3pt shooter, but he definetly can stretch the defense with a very nice midrange shot. DD, I have no dought the rockets will resign Landry, it's a foregone conclusion. Greene seems to make Novak much more expendable in my opinion.

I'm not a big fan of getting rid of the young guys. Aren't the older folks more prone to injury anyway? We know Landry had some knee issues in college too, but if they really wanted to look at that knee closer, wouldn't they have done it by now? I mean...game 6 was a while back.

Horry is old...playoff experience is good, but not if you can't remember it...its liable to come down with the "oldtimers!"

Barry would be better than head.

I think Morey may be playing a game of chess, which is confusing. If he was playing a simple checkers game, we would have known exactly what he is doing. Thruth is, we wont know until something actually happens.

say no to sasha vujajic that guy played out of his mind this year yes, but he was terrible his other years and his shot selection is still bad. the guy jacks it up all the time. its fine on the nights when he is hitting his shots, but on the nights he isnt is terrible and he keeps shooting. imo his defense is overrated he gets away with a lot of bodying and handchecking that should be called but isnt and that could be because he is a laker. he gets into foul trouble pretty quickly on the road when he gets called for those a lot more often.

the guy isnt worth the full MLE if the rockets do sign him for that they'll regret it i think morey is smart enough to realize that.

adelman's offense emphasis ball movement vujajic is not that. watch if he is on the team there will be plenty of nights where he'll have more shots attempted than yao or tracy maybe even both.
