I've been assuming this has all been Morey trying to drive away possible suiters for Landry, and driving down his contract, but you could be right. That would be a trip!

    FAIL !!

Nice attempt at sarcasm.........all I are about is improving the team, and having 2 quality PFs is great, but we need more options from the perimeter.

If you extrapolate Luis out to 36 minutes a game, then why would you over pay for Landry and his 15 minutes or so a game?

Just play Harris and Hayes....for those minutes.....and make up the difference by getting a much better perimeter player like Sasha....at least he can still play...unlike Horry.

these guys would be taking the roster spots of harris and woods, or maybe even head and woods... can someone explain to me how this is a negative thing?

Whoever doesn't like the Horry and Barry potential signings are crazy...

Barry is going to get the LLE.....WHO in their right mind that is still in their prime is going to accept the LLE....you think artest will accept it or maybe arenas or maybe peitrus....Barry for the LLE is the best bargain ever!!!

Horry will only be offered the league minimum....the league minimum which at his veteran level is like 1 million....WHo cares about 1 million....Loren Woods gets paid 1.2 million....get real guys look at the business aspect of it all!

Both are low risk-high reward situations...

Eh, if they help out, great. I'm not nearly as excited as a lot seem to be here though.

    ummm.....

nevermind the fact that signing either one of horry or barry (or even both) would have what... little to no effect on being able to sign sasha - at least financially speaking?

once again DD, you're all over the place in the span of about 4 posts.... it's like you have some uncanny x-men ability to be as inconsistent as possible.

Maybe when you were at SWT they didn't emphasize reading comprehension.

Because I have said...YES to Barry, and NO to Horry....

And my point was in relation to someone saying they would rather Robert Horry take the game winning shots........and I would rather the current team take those shots, because the success would be that much sweeter based upon all their failures to date.

I don't think Horry has anything left.

Ok heres probably why we are going after them.

BOTH playoff veterans, Horry especially who has clutch ability and a guy whos been past round 1 all his playoff life.

You add in the type of power forwards Adelman specialized in @ Sacramento... Webber, Divac, Turkoglu(time to time) and these are guys who could knock down outside shots and play in the high post. These guys I mentioned also were great passers for forwards and they had great chemistry.

I think its great we are getting them if they sign for LLE

Pavlovic put up a lousy 36% FG shooting last year on an anemic 29% from range - to combine that with his lackluster performance in most areas - that gave him an embarrassing 7.2 PER last year (15 is considered about average). -6 roland rating .... etc the list goes on.

Basically - he's the antithesis of the type of player Morey's system would go for - highly inefficient guy, who makes a fair amount of $$$ - this is the guy in lieu of Landry, who is off the charts in terms of efficiency?

That makes no sense at all. In theory the Rockets are more likely to sign Thomas Hamilton to a 10-year contract.

DD, whether it would be sweeter or not for the rest of the team to take those game winning shots, in the end it should be all about winning and for this rocket team to get past the 1st round of the playoffs. Morey should go after assets that could help this franchise advance and it seems like he's doing that on the cheap with Barry and Bobby H.

I traced the Sasha Vujacic rumor through Lakersground, to ClubLakers, to some blog(or paper) late last night. Couldn't find anything, and the OP didn't provide a link.

It really doesn't make sense right now with Landry still up in the air.

All Morey is trying to do is lower Landry's value by giving other teams doubts about his health. It's a standard move, and usually pays off in the end. I think we're just gonna wait until a team gives Landry an offer that we can afford, and then match it.

As far as Barry and Horry, I can see Barry definitely filling Luther Head's spot, and honestly, Horry could probably match Novak's production. In the regular season, those signings might not have a huge impact, but come playoff time, I think they will really pay dividends in the experience department. That is assuming that we sign the guys in the first place.

I have honestly learned from last year to give Morey the benefit of the doubt in what he is doing.

He has made some amazing moves for the team and he knows what he is doing. Everything he is doing now is a piece of his whole puzzle. Right now we see one piece and forget there is so much more in store.

I like the idea of just having the guys on the team for experience and knowledge for our young players. If they are cheap and can get that fire in the eyes of our young stars then I am all for it.

They might not have to play tons of minutes to make an impact on this team in ways we will never see.

and i still dont see the logic in that... that's like me turning down a decent paying job because it would make winning the lottery that much sweeter.

what kind of logic is that?

We don't need Horry...that was the point.......and what do you not understand about players growing together and accomplishing something that they have had difficulty doing?

If you are saying "they don't care who is there as long as they get to the 2nd round" then Ok, I could see your point.

My entire point is that Horry is done.....and not needed here.
