I respectfully hear you DD, but personally I think differently. I think he could help the rockets in spot minutes and would give Tracy someone with some serious playoff moxy. I still would have Horry taking the last shot in a game over any rocket player on the current roster.

Not me, I would rather these Rockets do it on their own, they are capable and it will make the success that much sweeter.

Agreed. Horry just looks like he doesn't have it in him anymore and we have a limited number of spots for the roster. BB would be nice though.

so you called someone out on an assumption that they made a mistake?

    that's pretty smart-like.

Why is anyone even arguing about this? If the deals workout as explained we would get Barry for the LLE (less than $2 mil) and Horry for the min. That's nothing. Think of it like Horry is taking Loren Woods' roster spot and Barry is taking Mike Harris'.

It sounds good to me. Horry has said all he wants is the minimum. It doesn't matter if he sucks. If he does, he just won't play. He might even retire mid-season like Webber who cares.

    why barry?

the dood does not have a consistent three point shot... and is not clutch!

    and he's old and unathletic

    horry is way too old

we have enough veterans... we need some young blood to provide energy!!

Whoever started that rumor must not know about Landry and the Rocket's MLE. Rockets offerring $30M over 5yrs to Vujagirl would be the full MLE.

What? The rumor is that we offered Sasha $30 million? That would probably mean bye bye to Landry.

If that proves to be true, the Rockets may be seriously concerned about Carl's knee.

Agree, whats the big deal. People act like the rockets can get a serious impact player or serious young stud with the LLE and the minumum.

Which is why I didnt start a new thread about it. That move would be completely Un-Morey like. There are better players out there to be had for that kind of cash.

I am not so sure there are better players who fit in with Rick Adelman's offense etc....

The more I think about it, the more it appeals to me.

Sasha is good with the ball, and can shoot it, as well as he plays hard on defense and moves without the ball to get open.

It would mean letting Landry go, but if you look at all the posturing, the Rockets seem to be doing concerning Landry, maybe they have already made that decision.

Drafting Dorsey, talking about his knee, they already have contracts committed for the next 2 years to Scola, Hayes, and have Harris as 3rd team.....

Landry may indeed by out the door.

I do not like Moreys thinking here! Why try to rekindle the playing lives of Dead Wood? The Rockets should be more business like, considering the players who are potentially available.
Now if it was news of him trying to get Artest I would jump for joy!!! :p

DD you sound like you work for the Rockets Publicity dept. :p

Well, I don't think the Rockets are worried about his knee...I think it is just a strategic move.

They ask him to get his knee looked at...they also publicly make it the reason for not giving him a deal yet.

This makes other teams also gunshy to offer Landry a deal...Thus we end up getting Landry for a cheaper price. If Landry wants more money than he needs to get this check up done.

It really is a win-win situation for the rockets.

Barry could be killer in our system, but Horry is finished. His production during the regular season is pathetic and he doesn't seem to have the ability to turn it on in the playoffs anymore. I guess we could do worse with the LLE and minimun for a third string PF it just seems a little odd that its our first move.

Yetti, but who realistically is potentially available for the LLE and the league minumum.
