Horry is finished, as evident from his run with the Spurs last year. The only reason I can see the Rockets wanting Horry and Barry is to give this team a championship attitude and championship leadership.

Don't they say that Horry is finished just about every other year and then all of a sudden when playoffs roll around he some how finds a way to help his team. Tracy McGrady needs a player on this team that has the playoff moxy and playoff credibility like Robert Horry. Even if Horry got limited minutes.

Relax guys. This is no big deal, if all we are offering is the LLE. Barry is insurance in case we can find no backup swing. If we get our backup swing, Barry will be a situational guy we bring in when no one can knock down an outside shot. If it's the roster spot you are worried about, he is much more serviceable player than Novak, Woods, Francis, or Harris. 3 months from now he can be added to all the other expirings to get that legit backup SG or PG.

That's a pretty damn good reason. But I do agree Horry looked to decline past the point of no return last year. Not true for Barry. He shot lights out in the playoffs. Definitely a big contributor on a western conference championship contender.

He will be a BYC player and difficult to use in any trade.

Horry WAS better than Novak, but I am not so sure anymore...his shot has left him, and he doesn't move very well without the ball.

Occasionally he jumps for a rebound or block, but Robert Horry is a SHELL of his former self.

    He is hanging on now......pass.

Did Horry hit ANYTHING in this year's playoffs?

or come up with a good rebound for that matter.

In most cases, BYC players add difficulty in a trade because you have to use their last salary not their current one. Is there other reasons, that make them difficult to use in a trade? Just trying to learn.

I do not see any news about Robert Horry "possibly" coming back.

Did I miss an article somewhere?

Okay I will attempt to explain with is my limited knowledge of the CBA. BYC players must use half of their current salary or 100% of their last salary whichever is greater in determining their trade value or what you can get back in return. As an example we signed Scola to a deal starting at 2 mil. If we would have tried to trade him we could only get a player back worth 1 mil. But that would not work for another team unless they were under the cap 1 mil because Scola would still be valued as a 2 mil hit on their cap space. So trading Scola would only be possible for a team that was under the cap or maybe had a trade exception. Maybe?

I am not sure how it works if you include a BYC player in a multitrade deal and if they can be just squeezed in under the 80% rule of matching salaries. After saying all of that I still don't think the Rockets have any intention of trading Barry if they sign him.

Just remember that SA is a very small market and is very tight with their payroll. That's how we grabbed Scola from the chumps in the first place. My relatives in San Antonio are still in a state of disbelief over that deal, along with Pops. One has incredible season tickets, is my brother-in law, a really nice guy (except for being a Spers fan), and that allows me to see the Rocks play the Spers twice a year. Terrific, except for the bellowing, amazingly insane fans who attempt to rib me about my Rockets gear. Great respect there for Tracy. Those 33 seconds will never be forgotten!

I can't see SA paying the bucks to snag Landry. They might like to, but the economics just isn't there, IMO. At this point, most couldn't care less about Bob, figuring he's done. I think he's got enough left that if he works hard, he could still help us in spots. Would be a great locker room guy that could teach a lot to our young players. Depends on if we move a bunch of players, obviously, to clear roster space. Barry is a no brainer.

DD, there is no question Horry cannot shoot the ball like Novak can, but he never could in the first place. Defensively Horry even at his age is light years better than Novak and brings an incredible BB IQ especially on the defensive end of the floor. I personally would sign him in a heartbeat.

i believe he shot 19% in the playoffs this year.

Pass on Horry, Barry on the other hand can really help the team out with his shooting. As for Landry, I agree that Morey is just trying to scare teams away.

I didnt think this deserved its own thread, as it sounds like pure speculation, but I went to SpursTalk.com to see what they think about all this and I found an interesting thread. It suggests that we have made a ridiculous offer to Sasha Vujacic. No credible source though.

He was 2-4 from three-point land in a big game seven versus the Hornets (in New Orleans) with 4 boards and a steal in limited minutes. I know this doesn't tell the whole story of his 2008 playoff performance...but that was a pretty big game to keep them alive.
