i'd love to see boozer or okur try to call Horry a jackass and see what happens.

I'm all for both players being here.

I dont get it, everyone here says they are too old, yet the team is in "win-now" mode. Last I checked the teams that were winning championships were veteran laden teams with youth mixed in. Morey has brought in some young guys to help for the future but think about it last year we only had 2 guys that had real playoff experience (ie past the first round) in bobby jackson and Deke (yeah i know rafer but he wasnt as big of a factor on that heat team compared to the teams bobby and deke were on) At this point I think we have honestly a lot of young talent for a promising future so I am all for getting some vets to help right now and take pressure off of our younger guys which in turn will help them.

    NO THX

We're here to win now. If that's the best we can get from the free agent market, let's keep what we have and roll with it. I'm sorry, but Robert Horry just can't contribute anymore. I'm okay with Brent Barry at a low price, but not Robert Horry. He'd be like Steve Francis last season-- sentimental value and little more.

Besides, our roster is already loaded. I thought we were trying to get younger, faster, and better. I'd rather wait out for a decent trade than a desperate veteran signing.

People, don't forget that the Rockets were pretty darn good this year. All they need is some tweaking.

Barry and Horry would be NICE pick ups.

Remember when Luther Head would get all those wide open shots and layups? Imagine Brent Barry there.

For those of you who doubt the clutchness of Yao and McGrady, do you really think teams would leave Barry and Horry open to double one or both of our stars?

Both players can shoot, both players are smart, both players can pass. Brent Barry would obviously be used more, but it's nice to have Horry as the DH for offense. Hayes is the DH on defense.

Passing is key in this offense, as is smart decision making. Barry and Horry have both attributes.

The fact that Morey makes it seem possible to sign Landry, Barry, AND Horry together tells me there's a trade or three he has in mind

Steve Francis wasn't brought back for sentimental value, they were looking for guards to hopefully replace Rafer or take some of his 40+ minutes. It might seem like that, but it wasn't.

Bring HORRY and BARRY, adding these two with Battier during crunch time around the perimeter will be dangerous for teams in playoffs. It doesn't matter how old they are, because young teams don't do much in the playoffs, the Hornets and Lakers are proof of this. If we get both, and are at full strength come playoff time, we should be the favorites along with the Lakers. We are already better than LA if you ask me, just adding a few key pieces will put us over them.

That's a good point and would be a good move. I'm honestly okay with picking up Barry at LLE, but not Horry simply because we are absolutely stacked at the 4 and Horry can't contribute anything to us at all that the others can't.

If Horry is on this team, he won't get much minutes at the 4.

Has anyone learnt from the Celtics? Veteran players came good during the play-offs. I'd rather see a proven Barry and a determined Horry playing minutes during teh clutch than Luther Head. A guy who has chocked on many occasions. I'd give these veterans the benifit of teh doubt.

If he comes, I don't see him getting much minutes period. Which is why I'm against him coming. His play in San Antonio the past two years have been a complete and utter joke and I don't want him here taking up space. I want contributors and he just isn't it one anymore. He's a veteran and probably a good locker room presence, but Mutumbo does the same thing and can at least produce. I think Horry is completely done and I'd be shocked if he can produce at a marginally good level consistently if he comes, which I pray he does not.

As for your post about Francis earlier, you're absolutely right and I apologize if I came off as extreme. I meant it more to say that many of us wanted him here and are keeping him here with sentimental value in mind, hence the whole "last year" note in my writing because he still has the potential to play well this year.

Having Horry would be nice insurance to have. If scola and Landry both get in foul trouble early, which they did a lot this year, hayes has to play extended minutes. Don't forget that Scola has to play some minutes at center. Horry brings his shot to the table, Hayes brings defense to the table. It's a nice contrast to have.

When you need a 3 to tie at the end of the game, Horry gives the Rockets four 3-point threats assuming Yao is playing the 5.

Horry would also be the best entry passer to feed Yao. He'd also be the best complimentary entry passer to yao. Horry knows how to create space after the entry pass. He'll either pull his man away from yao, or he'll be wide open for a 3.

Horry would be a nice addition to this ball club.

We have Dorsey the beast here now, and even if he doesn't pan out, Mutumbo can still play sparse minutes. I'm okay with Hayes because Hayes will hustle, although I think he's on his way out honestly.

Horry's shot has gotten very meh and I don't have any faith in it like many of you still do. He might still be clutch. Maybe. Possibly. I'm not willing to gamble a roster spot on him for that.

You're right that Horry would be a nice entry passer, though. He would be a great addition to most ball clubs as well, but I'm just saying I don't know why we would have him on this ball club because I'm very fixated on the amount of roster spaces we have and I just don't SEE what he can bring that warrants him coming here since we're already pretty full in terms of space. Even if we shoot a trade out, Scola, Landry, Mutumbo, Yao, and Dorsey will absolutely not be in it. We have enough bigs to last us the season.

If we sign Horry, it would give us another 3 point threat, and probably a solid bench player. Any old guy that can produce I will take over Head, Hayes, or BJax.

2 proven winners who know how to play that bring good luck and positive karma and some of you guys are complaining about them being old and over the hill? Please, we have 2 players on our roster that have EVER made it out of the 1st round (Deke+ B.Jackson) with Jackson likely being gone. We should be stoked if we got 1 and forever grateful to get both.

Good help is hard to find and the mere fact that these guys have an interest in being in a Rockets jersey means a lot.

these two signings, plus eventual deke signing... and possibly landry, would give us 18 players under contract. 16 of them would be guaranteed.

we'd also be the oldest team in the league, but barry is a good fit, and horry would be great.

Don't post anything if you don't know what your talking about.

Dikembe made it to the NBA FINALS, as AI sidekick against the Lakers, plus they won the 1st game against LA, then lost 4 straight.

BJax was on the Kings with Webber and Divac, they went to the WCF but lost to the Lakers because Mr Stern. decided to f*** them over.

Wow we seriously would be literally a "veteran" team with these 2 good additions

    Deke 42
    Barry 37
    Horry 38

Lets get Sam Cassell and we can be fielding the all-star team of yestergeneration
