May not be exact but all these numbers (Lin and Goran) will be close IMO. And if you want to maintain cap flex down the road and keep Lowry, then you shouldn't even bring Lin in for a backloaded contract no matter what the cost because that much for a backup pg is too much.

Stinks of a Le$ marketing move. Somehow this old man doesn't have enough and thinks he can take it with him.

Lin is in the same position that shaun livingston was in after livingston tore his acl. People feel sorry for him so they're willing to give him another shot.

This dude still has to demonstrate that his knee can hold up after surgery. He couldn't even make it a healthy full season.

He belongs in the Summer league if you ask me.

How sad is that, that we get stuck with a guy who doesn't want to be in Houston or play for a coach like McHale.

Lowry is ok, but Goran's ceiling is way higher due to his athleticism and height.

Morey seems to always take that guy that is nearly as good because he is cheaper, and that is not a way to put a winning team together.

Because you always have the lessor talent and said talent knows they were lowballed and will be looking to leave as soon as their contract is up and they can.

    This organization is in shambles.

I'm in this boat. Almost every offseason I hold my breath hoping my sports teams don't shell out overpriced contracts to mediocre free agents. It's like a minefield; you don't even care about making it out a winner, you just want to survive. With Morey the past few years, I've felt pretty securely that I didn't have to worry about the Rockets spending imprudently. However, this year the feeling is entirely different. Why are we going after a back-up PG with more money than the mid-level? The answer I'm afraid may not be related to on-the-court performance...

Lin is a novelty, that is all. I hope he signs elsewhere. I hate this offseason. Everything sucks. Master Morey plan my ass.

I started to read that NYPost piece but quickly got distracted by the new Kate Upton topless video. Thanks.

I'd rather have bibby or j.r. smith. Lowry is the man. Ride or Die with Lowry and Martin.

I think Lin left Houston without signing the offer sheet because (a) he wasn't blown away by the number, (b) he'd rather play in NYC and poison pill contract structure makes it less likely and (c) if NYC doesnt match its weird bc Lowry remains on the roster and (d) the direction of the team seems especially in disarray after the past week.

The only PG on the roster has requested a trade because he hates the coach... what could go wrong?

Well, he's not allowed to sign until July 11. That's a pretty good way to know. :)

I do think, though, if there was a deal, we'd know about it. Lin may be waiting to see as he seems to be the top PG left with Nash, Williams, and Dragic off the board.

They spent a lot of time together here. From this I deduce they must have at least enjoyed each others company (if not, why not just get down to business and get out of there?). Maybe Lin is just using us to get a better offer out of New York? I dont know. But the Rockets must have felt like they had a good shot at it or they would not have invested so much time and effort.

Lin's aboslute ceiling is Lowry like player but Lowry is on a better contract, one that expires sooner and is cheaper. Only a complete idiot would bring in Lin with Lowry already here unless you can trade Lowry for a superstar or top ten pick, Morey hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Lowry will straighten up and play as the starter whether Mchale is a douche or not, he is for the record.

This is the worst Rockets offseason I have ever seen. Waiting for Morey to pull a rabbit out of his hat.

Because no one can sign until July 11.

It's not like Lin blew out his knee. He had a torn meniscus. Those are easy repairs with no lasting effects. From what I heard the rest of his knee (ACL, MCL) were all structurally sound.

I don't think last season's injury should even enter into the discussion. Simply not relevant.
