Man rockets need to get this deal done. We really need someone who can shoot the 3's and spread the flooor!!! Once we get a real threat beyond the arch then we'll be a very hard team to play against with yao ming posting inside!!!! Get er done morey!
The Rockets would have to offer him an unbelievable contract for him to come here. As much as I'd like him, it may not be worth it. He's going to prefer going to a team he feels gives him the best shot of winning another ring -- i.e. probably not us.
I don't think anyone else will offer a second year. With Barry's injury problems and slow decline I don't see anyone else wanting him as badly this year as next year. I think he would be wise to take a contract now for next year in case something happens to him down the stretch, offseason or whatever. Job security is what we are offering which is what Morey thinks is attractive. Let's hope Barry sees it the same way.
Dumb move by the Rox if indeed this is true. They have a legit shooter in Novak. I guarantee you that in crunch time, if they bring in a 3 pt specialist in Novak, all eyes will STILL be on T-Mac. Barry brings nothing more than an extra line item on their personnel salary sheet. Thumbs Down IMHO theSAGE
Novak is a forward, Barry is a guard. Morey and Adelman want to add a big guard. All the Rockets have are as cover are BJ and Head.
Imagine this line up on offense... PG: Barry SG: McGrady SF: Novak PF: Battier C: Yao ...but forget about the defense
Barry has much more game than Novak...Brent isnt just a shooter and nothing else. Also, he is a veteran who plays smart. The guy was getting ~20 minutes a game in his 4 seasons with the Spurs...he must be doing something right.
The Rocket Guy is about eight rungs down the ladder from Peter Vecey when it comes to vetting his trade rumors, and infinitely lower when it comes to anything else. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes these things up while wacking off to RPD photos every night.
Considering the Rockets have won 20 of their last 23 games I would think that we're every bit a contender as any of the other teams mentioned.
I was just trying to drive the point of having all those legit 3 point options. Of course, I wouldn't put that lineup out myself...the defense would be terrible
Have Anta sign him to a $20 million endorsement deal to make up for any financial differences that the Spurs might have on us. Realistically though, I don't see him coming. He's much more familiar with the Spurs and they really want him.
Wait... Thats a genuinely intriguing idea right there. Hopefully Morey mentions that during the recruiting trip.
