I think he'll stay with the Spurs as well. He has a place there, knows his role already, gets some rest (spend time with this family) before the playoff starts. I see no reason why he wouldn't do it.
the logic is he won't be on the court, and it could be longer than 10 days.... hence not on the court to help us! then he gets healthy and it could be a happen again....
A poster from spursreport.com posted the following: It's possible the exec is just playing down the chances of Barry returning to the Spurs, but the Lakers are apparently a strong player. The rich get richer?
Not that I think Brent Barry will make up that much better but book it, he is signing with the Rockets. No doubt about it.
Exactly if Barry didn't say it than it doesn't mean squat. I doubt he told the exec who is leaning towards. Also everything we heard indicates no decision has been made but he has said he appreciates that a team wants him and that they need him and that they can win. The Rockets fill all 3, we are the hottest team in the league and have left no doubt we want him and certainly if he has watched the 2 last games he can see this team creates open shots for people like him, can shoot. Plus Morey said Brent is asking all the right questions. Meaning he wouldn't be asking those questions if he wasn't seriously considering us. I doubt anybody knows what Brent's decision because he probably hasn't even made it yet. But I think at the end of the day he either believes there is no doubt the spurs will repeat or he thinks they won't and the Rockets have as good a chance as any and he good be a big part in making that even more likely.
I don't understand how anyone would not think this is a big deal. Luther or Barry? A-Barry>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Luther A rotation of Yao Scola Battier T-Mac Alston Jackson Barry Landry spot situations Hayes for his D Luther and Novak to spread the floor against Shaq Deke for Yao but most nights those first 8 =Championship
Man, I'm would be the happiest guy in the world if we could get Brent Barry. He is the perfect missing puzzle piece that we need. After that, I would ask for no one else. I understand that he is injury prone and all, but he has the experience and the shooting to help us in the playoffs.
Barry played the best five years of his career for the Sonics. Seattle didn't have to release him and definitely could have been a mentor to the young Sonics' players. They're rewarding him for those five years.
Barry will be an excellent addition if the Rockets are lucky to get him. championship experience ball handling/passing/slasher/3 pt shooting/dunker big 2/3 A major upgrade over Luther Head.
I really hope that we can get him, he will help us a lot. Though the chances of him going to the Spurs are higher , but we, Rockets, never lose hopes.
I think this is going to happen. I think we are going to get him. Something just feels right about it.
