Did you guys see the article above that said players must be added by Saturday to be eligible for the playoffs? If this is true....then it would mean Barry may not go back to San Antonio.... DD
That's no good. My gut feeling is he'll just resign with the Spurs also. I hope i'm wrong but i'm sure reps from the Spurs have been playing the "we only traded you because we knew we could get you back" card from the moment that Kurt Thomas deal went down.
Twice (almost) actually. BB would be an interesting fit. Jones? I have no clue. But, both of these guys (and possibly others?) in the pecking order...ahead...of Mike Harris?
I don't like the sound of that DA, hopefully it's just a rumor. We're one injured T-Mac away from some serious matchup problems night in and night out considering our lack of size at the guard position. Barry would fit the roll perfectly.
I think Mike Harris may still be on their radar, but my guess is that the Rockets would like to add players with playoff experience at this point. DD
But you can't think like that, you have to assume everyone is going to stay healthy. I mean every team is one injury away....Nash, Kobe, Paul, Dirk, etc...etc..etc.. DD
SG and SF are interchangeable...... Battier guards the other teams best player, either the SG (Kobe) or the SF (Melo)...whichever one is best.... DD
Only because of his experience, otherwise they are both equally useless for anything else other than 3 point shooting.
I was speclating for the Rockets to sign Harris. Adelman would have to see him as an option at SG. He can defends guards and could play SG but Adelman's only used him at 3/4.
It's obvious we're not bringing in Harris this year. We would already have done it. I'm just hoping we bring him back to training camp during the offseason and he gets a shot to make the team next year.
Isn't that why you pick up a veteran? Isn't that the definition of a veteran? And it's not only his experience. A player can have loads of experience and still not be the brightest fellow around. Barry is very, very smart, is money from Downtown, can make the entry pass to Yao, especially with his height (how many of those have we seen from Novak?), and while age is catching up with him, can play enough team defense to cover up at least some of his liabilities in the area, especially versus Novak. I'm not hung up on the Novak comparison, since the guy has seen little time on the court in his brief career and we wouldn't be getting him to replace Steve, but Barry is a huge bump up from the guy. Most importantly, Barry would be getting wide open looks from behind the arc. When he does, he's going to feel like he's died and gone to heaven. He'll spread the floor for the rest of the guys. I just can't see why he isn't a big pickup by the Rocks, if we can nab him. Assuming he's healthy.
barry def won't hurt us, but he's out as it is for a calf injury at least 10 days. that doesn't speak well for him
I have a feeling we will get him ....just a hunch...I think he would be awsome for this offense...he would fit right in just like his brother.... can't wait to see the officiaial thread "Rockets and Barry Reach Deal"!!!!
