Our pitch to Lin is very simple. Be the man. He can't get that in NY. Knicks know that they have enough scorerHence them going to Nash. Lin is not the answer to the big picture. But he is the answer to making a splash and filling seats. I say why the hell not. If he's a bust then at least we are choosing a direction. Have play the tmac role in Orlando when they got the first pick.

If you get a top pick with Lin putting up numbers. Then I think most casual fans can bear at.

Knicks will still be looking to match on Lin even AFTER signing Nash

Wow, just ****ing unbelievable. Lin isn't starting material PG. He will screw up in here. Mark these words. Honestly I wouldn't give him 3y/10M$.. I didn't get all that Linsanity at first, but offering him 4y/40M$, that is what I call insane.. Btw new CBA really works..

Maybe you are confusing him for Shumpert, since that's the guy they had to keep throwing on all the dudes that were lighting Lin up.

This dude is not better than Dragic or Lowry on the basketball court. Les is chasing $$ and this is dissapointing. Winning is clearly not his priority.

IF I really have to choose between Lin 30m 4 years or Goran 30m 3 years, I would choose to offer 30m 3 year for Goran. Goran deserves $3m more than Lin per year! But Lowry would definitely be VERY unhappy and asked to leave.

These are the things that comfort me about signing Lin:
    1. He is 6'3" strong and athletic - do not discount this
    2. He appears to have a tremendous desire to improve his game, and has already shown immense improvement in his game from the time he came into the league

That being said, Dragic is better, and I'd much much much rather pay Dragic $9 million than Lin $7.5 million.

    This is crazy.

Lin played 29 games and averaged under 10 mins in his rookie season, required surgery after the season.

With the Knicks he played 35 games and had season ending surgery.

Lin brings a ton of revenue to les. It's a financial and publicity move. Not a basketball skill level increase move. How many ppl are going to see dragic vs. Going to see lin?

He likely disagrees with your assessment that Dragic is "much" better. I think he views both on the same tier, and that one can replace the other no problem. And Dragic's contract would be 4yr/$40mil vs 4yr/$30mil if Lin signs and NY declines to match. Even if Dragic is better, he may not be 33% more salary better.

They both have similar games, and would both play the same role in McHale's PG-dominated offense. Dragic's game is more refined, to be sure. But Lin's more raw at this point. Overall, I don't see too much of a difference regardless of who signs.

Well.. Preparations A through G were a complete failure. But now, ladies and gentlemen, we finally have a working tractor beam which we shall call... Preparation H.

So, give us the semblance of the trade here. Nash's going price looks like around $12 million for 3 years. At least, that is what Toronto appears to be offering. What else are the Knicks going to send out besides Lin to be able to trade for a contract of that size and who are they going to send where? I don't see anything on their roster that I want on our roster as a tagalong with Lin. Is PHX going to want Balkman, Gadzuric, Harrelson, and Jordan? I sure don't want all that dead weight here unless we can push them on to Orlando.

Lin overplays and dominates the ball. That's so different to the Rockets this season. The players tended to bring that up, ie sharing the ball.

He overplays and dominates the ball b/c he had to under D'antoni. Let them go through a training camp and then lets see whats up.
