these are my thoughts about clyde too. yeah we was a big key to our 2nd title, but it was a sad day when the rockets retired his number. clyde didn't mean anymore to the rockets than O.T., vernon, horry, kenny, and mario.
Landry seems like he could add something to our frontcourt. The idea that the addition of th 54th pick would serve as some enticement that's going to get us a Big name or into the top 15 seems a little crazy to me. If teams are willing to sell their late 2nd round picks what incentive would those teams in positions to make big moves have to give up something/someone noteable for a 54th pick (and a late first round pick, and some contracts)?
#54 is for a player outside USA. We are learning from Spurs, but it is not for Sun Y whom nobody knows here.
I'm really hoping we can pick up DJ Strawberry. Our perimeter defense lacks so much, that Strawberry is extremely capable of bringing.
Go foreign and stash em overseas, or domestic and let them play in the NBDL......does anyone know if RA uses the NBDL? DD
Last year, did Houston trade for Orlando's pick before the draft, during the draft, or after (with Orlando picking for them)? I would imagine this info could provide a clue as to HOW the pick will be utilized tonight. I mean, right now, buying a pick this early makes no sense. Why not wait until the second round to see who's available before buying a pick? It's r****ded to spend money on a pick hours before the draft only to find out later that the guy(s) you initially targeted is/are gone. You can always agree to the deal (contingent on the guy you want being there) before and finalize it during the draft. Morey's a smart guy, so I'm gonna assume he realizes this. Thus, I can only conclude that the pick was obtained ahead of time for the purposes of trading it EARLIER in the night, like with our 26th pick.
I heard the same from an assistant coach of his. 9-5 guy who wouldn't put in the time to make the program better. Then he up and quit on it all and left them hanging. He left a nice career to help coach the team and Clyde up and quit before they could really get it going.
clyde barely showed up on time for his first game...all the rockets staff went and he was nowhere to be found....strolled in 5 minutes before the game...now wonder he was a disgrace...he was a great player, but the team and rudy t hated him...never on time, uncoachable...now he is just a tool of the owner...quite possibly the worst announcer of all time
F*** all these dudes, here's someone capable off putting the ball in the hole. Trey Johnson. #56 on the top 100. http://insider.espn.go.com/nbadraft/draft/tracker/player?playerId=19106&draftyear=2007 Draft Projection: Late first to early second Notes: Played minor league baseball for the Kansas City Royals before developing an ligament injury in his elbow. Declared for the 2006 NBA draft but withdrew after not receiving much attention from NBA teams. Positives: Prolific scorer who can score from just about anywhere on the floor. NBA 3-point range. Good midrange jumper. Uses his strength to attack the basket. Has the ability to play some backup point. Good ballhandling ability. Plays very physical. Strong. Poised. Negatives: A big fish in a very small pond. Johnson does everything for his team which leads to some bad shots. Summary: After being virtually ignored last spring, NBA scouts have taken notice this year and it looks like Johnson may even have a shot at the first round.
