so you're saying that he's more like larry bird? Even better!!! so low end, novak, high end bird, if he's a jon barry that will be fine. as far as sun yue, he's either going to be as good as yao, yi jian lian or wang zhizhi.
Well I decided to clear my ignore list only to see this. What was I thinking? Denniscd I thought being in the basketball profession automatically made you smarter than people who are just as you put it "ignorant fans"? Clyde has Played college ball, NBA ball, been a head coach at UofH yet you seem to imply you know more than he does. How is this possible? Could it be that youre theory of being involved in basketball makes you smarter than us average fans? Pleasse due tell.
BIG WOOP!!! What is the deal with everyone so excited about the 26th pick? If we don't draft in the top 10 its pretty much a crap shoot.. I know its a long off-season but damn were talking about the 26th pick and now this? The 54th .... What are the chances the 54th pick get a slot on the rosters this year or within the next 2 years? Its called WIN NOW... Yao and Tracy are not getting any younger which means they are getting older which means they are more prone to getting injured... I don't want some kid where we have to develop his talents and hope he contributes in 4 years which by the way our Dynamic Duo T-mac and Yao will be in their 30's I'll change my sig to this Mark my words if we keep the 26th pick he will contribute jack $#% to the team.
A month or so ago there were a lot of Herbert Hill fans. Where did they go? Did anyone notice that Hill could be a possibility with the #54. I hope there is a better player there, but .....
I really liked what I saw of Bobby Brown.. he can stop and pop from range, AND he can get to the hoop, a-la Tony Parker(ish). Question remains, though, what kind of decision-maker is he? What kind of passer? A/TO rating? If he's there at 54 and we still have the pick, I will not be crying if he is the guy.
I think it’s obvious not all NBA players have the ability to evaluate talent. You have great players like Jordan and Clyde, who have been around basketball so long they have the knowledge to just “get by” managing teams, but you shouldn’t confuse them for real talent evaluators like Dennis Lindsay.
Man...there have been some great palyers come in the late picks..so dont quite come off and say theres no chance of a star being picked this late..ive already listed many players in previous threads..parker,arenas,boozer,michael redd...many more so just hold on and see
This is what I am hoping for - packaging it to move up or for another player from another team. Seeing that Morey pulled it in this late makes me think he has it hanging there for a petential trade to occur during the draft if the chips fall the way he wants.
It would be nice if we drafted Sun Yue in the second round so he can be with his buddy #11. I don't really care which player we pick with the first pick. I am a firm believer that most (not all) players benefit from the system. An intelligent player who fits the coaches system would be my pick. Isn't Jared Jordan in this draft? I don't think he is on any mock draft, but if he is really that good at running the point, I would select him with the second pick.
I can't see the 54th pick in the draft being much worth in a trade. It seems to me that the Rockets have a specific player they want to pick up at the end of the draft - probably a foreign player - and they needed the late second rounder to get him.
FWIW, clyde was basically an embarassment during his coaching tenure at UH. he had ZERO dedication according to many and was basically ushered out. as an announcer, i'd rather hear flatulence. oh, and he can be a real prick in person, too.
