Wasn't it not too long ago that this entire board went crazy during the world games because Yao's teamates couldn't get him the ball? Here's his draft highlight video anyway: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dY4y8AeEzlo"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dY4y8AeEzlo" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> Looks like he has long arms and a knack for getting blocks on smaller guards. Maybe he could turn out to be a good back up pg, a defensive specialist. I doubt anyone projected in the 1st round will make it this far, but I could see Davis or Williams MAYBE getting this far. Davis more so. In which case I see him as the next Boozer. Ha, even I laughed at that a little.
splash!!!! I love the move. So at least there are some talents on the pipeline. I guess it will be a pick of internationals. It's seems it's the Rockets strategy to use 2nd round pick to keep some prospects overseas. btw, Orlando's lottery pick Fran Vazquez may finally be ready to come for NBA (according to Hoopshype). So, maybe the Rockets can sign Darko too.
Morey is AWESOME Hopefully we can get really lucky and get a solid player or even dream (Arenas). BTW how are the Rockets doing with money?
Two words: Kyrylo Fesenko (if he lasts this long). I imagine that Daryl Morey understands the logic behind drafting international players in the second round to develop overseas. The team gets a raw prospect with potential to develop yet does not need to pay such player's salary. It's better than stashing a guy in the NBDL since you don't have to pay him. Plus, Europe has arguably better competition. Another guy I wouldn't mind getting at #54: Ali Traore, the 6-9 French PF. P.S. Rumor out of Dallas is that the Mavs like Sun Yue. My guess is that they take him #50 if he's there.
Yeah Bobby Brown <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wV7gAHowAmQ"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wV7gAHowAmQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Man, you know a lot about Chinese basketball. Sun Yue can be a decent PG backup given time. With Yi getting more attention from Chinese fans and media, addtion of Sun Yue can secure Rockets' #1 position in China.
Please please please select Brad Newley According to Chad Ford Rockets were of only a handful of teams to scout Newley in Australia. I guess they could still hold a passing interest in Newley. They were interested in Thabo last draft long before any other team. While Newley and Thabo aren't similiar players but they do share a some passing attributes and skills like playing hard, doing the little things to get things done, and being really able to attack the rim.
les loves the draft...he loves sitting next to clyde in the war room and talking draft with clyde...who knows nothing but fakes it well
http://www.nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/stephanelasme.html stephane lasme could be a steal at pick 54. He is 25 years old, but he is athletic, he can rebound, and block. If we get Diogu we wont take him though. Both Diogu and Lasme are undersized at 6-8. Lasme would be great. http://draftexpress.com/viewprofile.php?p=1079 I dont think they have him being drafted, which is a suprise to me.
now that's the kind of inside info I've been waiting for! Screw those "who are the rocket's targeting?" or "what trade talks are in the works?" info...
I dont have any trouble believing that! I can see it now....Clyde tells Les, "hey we might want to grab PG X he has serious upside potential, near all-star potential, much like Rafer!"
Who can we take with #54 pick in the 2nd round? We better trade that picks and some players to get good PF Like we did last year. I know we had #8 but we can still make a good deal for example for Diogu.
