Has anyone read the rumor about nets and 76ers doing a three way deal that sends melo to nets and harris to 76ers?

    http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm

"With No. 3 overall pick Derrick Favors, multiple extra draft picks, and Devin Harris, whose $8.98 million contract could be parlayed into a serviceable replacement for Anthony in a three-team trade.multiple sources said: the Philadelphia 76ers. New team president Rod Thorn and GM Ed Stefanski – who formerly worked together in New Jersey – CBSSports.com"

    and 76ers out right:

what happens if Nuggets get iggy...nets get melo...and we get nothing?

Oh, yeah. That's another thing. It is a common misconception that Kevin Martin is making $12M per season over the life of his contract. But that is simply not true. He's making "only" $10.6M next season, $11.52M in 2011-12 and then topping out at $12.44M in 2012-13.

Frankly, I think $10.6M is a freakin' STEAL for a guy who does what Kevin Martin can do.

What the title of this thread means is:

"Rockets not trading Kevin Martin until they trade Kevin Martin."

I absolutely agree. For him to not be a superstar, he sure is threatening like one to opposing teams. Absolute steal!! ;)

    agree 100%

Whats the point of always going down the stretch with a close game? You need to try and build leads so that the end is easier for you offensively...that's whatKmart brings, he'll help the offense throughout a game. There's 48 minutes in a game, not 4.

And it just sounds like they're happy with the team and any deals they went after are now dead....if something comes off, then morey won't hesitate to make the team better, but i doubt kmart will be a part of it.

I think the argument that Kevin Martin isn't a "clutch" player is really played out on this BBS. Where is the proof? Does he have an abysmal FG% and FT% late in the fourth quarter of close games, relative to his %s earlier in those games? Is the reason for the poor FG% because he is choking or because the other team is throwing 2-3 guys his way on a crap Kings team with no other "near-star" players on it?

I'm not saying the guy is the second coming of Michael Jordan, but give the guy a freakin' break! Most people here have only watched the guy play 24 games (his career thus far as a Rocket), and Martin just mentioned to the Chronicle that he was still feeling his wrist injury and was trying to avoid imposing his will on his new team just yet (btw, he's going to do that next season).

Also, your implied suggestion that Morey go out and sign Steve Kerr, Derek Fisher and Robert Horry to max contracts is duly noted. :p

Due to Martin's contract being hard to trade and how valued his efficiency is, I honestly believe that is why AB will be traded if any trade for a super star does come up.

Great job speaking truth to power and disabusing the "conventional wisdom." It entirely changes the Kevin Martin Conversation when you know that he only makes $11.52 million per season, as opposed to the $12 million figure that is often thrown around for the sake of convenience. He projects to make more money per game played than Lebron James, making him a true moneyball warrier at the bargain salary of only $11.52 million. Quite a deal for the 10th best shooting guard in the league.

    Translation:

We are not dealing Kevin Martin unless an superstar becomes available and he is a required part of the deal to make it happen.

    Why are you still here?

You've already proven yourself to be an idiot. Still angry we traded your favorite player? What an amazing value he was.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I dont think future draft picks are technically "part of our roster."

Lets not get discouraged...Morey is always looking to make moves and improve our roster. Our off-season is not over yet.
