That's not the point he was driving home...the question and point is how many 7'5 and above players have achieved what Yao has achieved? Of course you can come up with 50 names that were shorter...you just described the 50 Greatest List! You really went out on the limb on that analysis. In fact your whole argument about the Rox not being a contender like past champs such as the Spurs or Pistons, isn't really saying much. In fact, it's an easy talk for anyone to take up behind on. I'm guessing your next argument will be that Tim Duncan deserves MVP.
You could have started this thread a day ago...or two or three days ago, and it might have survived and this wouldn't have even started. But you wait until tonight after a loss...you're just asking for it...
What makes you think this team has no heart? Remeber the T-Mac miracle? The Sun game when we were down on the 3rd, but end up wining by 20? Even in tonight's game, we never gave up and fought to the end. As far as the Yao bashing that you seems to be enjoying tirelessly, Yao only played 28 mins tonight, average that out to 38 mins, you do the math.
Sampson is considered by some to be the greatest bust ever. Try googling "Bust" and "Ralph Sampson" together and you'll get plenty of results. Lebron technically could end up as a bust, but it's a much much smaller chance. Yao is still not a guaranteed star for years to come...he's getting there, but man, a knee injury to someone like Yao will probably be far more serious then to a guard (unless you are hardaway).
Not the same. Anyway, i'm not bashing yao, but c'mon, 28 minutes is no excuse. He should stay on the court. He should tell JVG to screw himself and he's not getting off the floor. Do you think Barkley would meekly get off the court? Hell no. I like Yao, good guy, but he definitely lacks heart at times.
Because he doesn't tell JVG to "screw himself", he has no heart? If thats your definition of this team having heart, then I'm glad this team has no heart.
I'm not gonna Question Yao's Heart or the lack of it for a Second... i think the issue of yao not being over agressive is the most talked about issue amongst B-Ball Junkies around the league. i think it's more of a Culture and upbringing thing then him Supposedly lacking the will or the drive to win. It's really unfair to sy he lacks heart. just my Opinion.
Did you called Hakeem a bust when he was drafted? Because he had a great chance to get knee injury as well. Whoever is calling Ralph Sampson a bust is about tastless as you are. Player injury is something nobody want to have, and you can't do nothing about it. Again, bust is someone who could be great, and has the ablity to be great, but simply don't want to be, aka Kwame Brown, aka Derrick Coleman, aka Michael Olowokandi.
How is that? Seriously, name a guy who was 7-6 that has averaged 13-15 boards. Only KG avgs atleast 13 boards this season.
New Yorker, one freaking bad game happens to every great team. When was the last time Rox miss 13 free throws, and when was the last Mark Blount cant miss. Dont get me wrong, I will give C's all the credits they deserve, Angie and Doc Rivers assembled a good team there. But one bad game from houston side, that's all to it.
Speaking for across110thstreet and all other NY Rox fans, we are sorry this guy is even claiming to be from New York
I disagree. We've all seen him play with passion and get every board and score, block shots, and just dominate...and at other times he just seems to disappear at times. I honestly think he doesn't get up all the time...and that pisses me off because there's no excuse for that.
