Just admit it, you were wrong about Yao, and you are going to be wrong about the Rockets as well.

Wining 70% of games since Januray is not only hot, we has became a good team. Boston on the other hand, only fits the definition of "hot team" till they prove us wrong.

lol you cant read your own writing???

Lol Legendz3 busted you and now you try to claim u didnt say bust, but project!? lol BUT hello he posted exactly where you said it! But nooo being the idiot you are, despite it being right in front of your face (hint its the bold part) you still try to deny and spin it lol.

Oh and by the way Pheonix lost at home to the warriors tonight... does that mean they arent contenders either??? Of course only a fool would base whether or not a team is a contender by their most recent lost... and you wouldnt do that now... would you??

ANd by the way, we have beaten SA not once but twice.

Suns lose to Golden State Does that mean that they are not a contender?

Suns lose to Golden State Does that mean that they are not a contender?

The logic that because we lost to the Celtics, we 're not a contender is bullcrap. Did you expect the Rockets to run the table???????? Every team has bad games now and then. It's an 82 game marathon. Miami Heat lost to Portland, San Antonio lost to Toronto and Utah. Chill out

I think you really have a chip on your shoulder that you've carried for years.

I was never wrong about Yao. I said he might be a bust, look up the word might in the dictionary before you throw out false accusations. Read what i write carefully before twisting it into what you want to think i wrote.

Phoenix has won 70% of it's game since NOVEMBER. Their a good team, but they have no chance at winning a title. They will be also-rans. As will Seattle, as will Dallas, as will Sacramento.

The only contenders are San Antonio, Miami, and Detroit. They aren't good teams, they are championship calibar teams.

    Houston is a good team.

Phoenix has never been in the same league as San Antonio.

    Neither is Houston.

And I never said Yao was going to be a bust. For the 10th time, learn to read.

"They know their team sucks, and they know which players have been overhyped and don't go on making an ass out of themselves by making ridiculous claims like "Yao Ming will make the All-Star team" or will average "13pt, 8 reb" this season."

    both happened!

I apologize... it was a trick question. The correct answer was then and now. And actually, this is my favorite:

    http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?s=&postid=623517

Yao Ming made the All Star game.

Yao Ming averaged 13.5 points and 8.2 rebounds his rookie season.

    Priceless.

Well then, my good sir, you MIGHT be an idiot.

If you don't think Phoenix is a contender, then you have no basketball knowledge what so ever. Yes, they are a soft team who don't play a lots of defence. But there is not a single team that wants to face them in the first round, not even the Spurs.

Everyone has their own difinition of "Championship calibar team". No one thought the 94 Rockets was a contender, yet look what happened?

but you started this thread after a LOSS, is that a coincidence? I'd be more convinced if this thread was started after the win in Portland.;)

You guys really have a chip on your shoulder don't you?

He made the all-star team averaging less then 13 pts and 8 rebounds - i'm sorry, but his rookie year he didn't deserve making the all-star team over shaq and you know it.

He had a strong second half and it's truly ridiculous that he got those numbers - i in fact admited i was wrong because i thought it would take him a lot longer to get to those kinds of numbers.

However; he still gets 8 rebs a game, 2 seasons later. A man his height and strength should get more. I don't question his skills at this stage, just his heart at times. He's a superstar in name and popularity, but he's not one of the NBA's 50 greatest yet.

I am very impressed with Yao, and I'm glad he's gone farther then I expected him too after watching his first few games. But in all seriousness, this team isn't a contender like San Antonio, Detroit, and Miami. I'll put money on them, because I'm a huge fan. No one would be shocked if this Rockets team made it to the finals, maybe won the Championship.....but as good as Houston has played, i still don't think they measure up to the elite teams...

If were not Contenders, then neither is Seattle or The Suns or even dallas. were just as good as all those teams. all credit to Boston, but the heavy Scheduel and the builtup expectation, hence alot of pressure which had been building by a bucket loads, finally told tonight. We'll bounce back on sunday..... can't winnem all. boston is a very good team. they also beat The suns up in Phoenix if my memorie serves me correctly?.

Actually i posted the same thing after the portland game, it just doesn't get as much attention after a win...!

Maybe i just like to stir things up a bit, the BBS was getting a bit too much of a sickenly display of good feelings for my taste...

You just admit Phoenix is soft with little defense - and then call me an idiot for saying it's not a contender for those reasons?

I think you're brain needs to look in the mirror.
