I agree - it is a valid complaint! (just not in the case of the ACTUALLY 7'5 Zach Edey).

Personally I don't know if it makes him more impressive or not? 7'4 or 7'5? So what? He's massive! I'm not sold on him being an NBA player, but we'll see I guess?

Why arent you sold on him? He had better speed and agility results than Clingan.

Sengun already stopped and humiliated Wemby last season.

If you watch the Edey pick n roll video, you will notice he brings the ball down before every dunk regardless of where he catches it...a tendency he must eliminate as it makes him smaller.

I hope he makes it! I just don't think teams want to feature a big dude in the post in todays NBA.

Jokic, Sengun, Sabonis and Embiid are being used as the team's offensive hub in the post.

I'd generally expect Sengun to do better than the lumbering bigs out there tbh. Wemby's not a player you can stop with height and being big, he's a 7'4 wing, you need to be agile. The perfect players to stop a Wemby on D aren't Clingan or Kessler, they're Chet or Mobley. Agile, mobile, switchable. Rim protectors will get ABUSED once Wemby starts to hit his prime.

I see the big man trending back some in the NBA. Yes the role has changed some being able to stretch the floor more. Still, we’ve seen more and more rim protectors and skilled big men that can play some with their back to the basket along with being able to face up.

He doesn't have the athleticism to pop straight up and dunk keeping his hands up aka capela etc

This era would have been great for Dmo to play in...... what a bummer.

He has a 9'7 standing reach.

How athletic does he need to be?? Just jump 3 inches

I'm still on the Edey train. I just think his skill level and size would greatly improve this team over anyone available. They can run high low with Sengun. The screens will free up players and would force the other teams to adjust. He anchors very, very well down low. He's already a good free throw shooter as well which is a bonus

    Team Zach, from pick n•10...
Just grab another pick, if this draft is presumed that poor, it shouldn't be that hard to find a team willing to sell one.

I'm not gonna lie. I think it would be kind of fun to see that huge giant blocking shots, or jumping a couple inches to stuff one straight into the basket. That lumberjack sure as hell wouldn't get bullied around the rim like some of the skinny guys, and he would be like a giant tree trunk next to some of those guys.

If we traded down with Portland to get their 7 and 14 we could get a wing and Edey. But, I don't think Portland would bite.

Even though he would be 3rd or 4rth string center, Edey is someone I would consider taking if we had a second pick in round 1. If he falls to 44 it is a no brainer but I doubt he drops that far. I would take him over Clingan any day of the week although neither is worth the #3 pick..

Edey would turn this franchise around in a hearbeat. Like Hakeem, didn’t start playing bball until just a few years ago. Great athleticism as he played multiple other sports in high school. Turn off the media narrative and just watch his game and there’s no doubt he’s the clear best player in the draft. Would love to have a guy like Sheppard too, but no way will he impact the game like this behemoth. Just another case of the media creating their own false narrative. Just watch the NBA Finals post game show and know that ESPN thinks those people are better than Jeff Van Gundy and the crew they fired.

I thought Adam's looked big, but Edey adds 5 inches of height and another 50 pounds.

Adams is actually just 6'11 and a half or something ....is just wide and strong.
