J.R. Smith is super stupid all day everyday. However, he has talent of a young McGrady only 4" shorter. Dude goes all day. He doesn't have a clue about how to play D and play help side defense. The crossover is wicked and lethal beyond the 3pt line. I know this post is all over different subjects, just like J.R. on the court.

I think Rick can handle him, he had Clyde, Duckworth, and other crazys in Portland.

He's the kind of player that could play 30-40 minutes and collect maybe one rebound. He's only concerned about points and getting his own shot off. Not only that, his shot selection is Antoine Walker-eque bad.

    Is he talented? Sure.
Would he be an upgrade over Luther Head? Absolutely.
Would he come cheap? Probably not.

I would take J.R. Smith over T-Mac... We need a consistent PERIMETER scorer to complement Yao. He can also take it to the hole and finish.

Question for the BBS? When was the last time a restricted FA that had the upside (youth, outside shot, athleticism) of JR sign with another team, I can't remember a player that hasn't been picked up by his present team.

I'd love to have him, he's young and a lot of his problems will be worked out as he matures.

That's because he plays off the bench. He's there to create a scoring spark, just like Bobby Jackson is.

JR Smith is a frickin KNUCKLEHEAD....just like his Denver teammates Melo, K-Mart, and AI. While they are all individual talents, none of those guys have shown that they can play SMART, TEAM basketball. I say no to him!

The point is he doesn't bother to rebound or play defense. That's a bit of an issue to me for a young player like him in his athletic prime. His shot selection is putrid, is that a requirement of this "spark plug" role?

It isn't just about trying to to put up as many shots and points as humanly possible.

He has the same role as Bobby Jackson... You can't expect him to be consistent on D and on the boards. If put in the situation the guy's aggressive and athletic enough to snag boards and play D. He just needs to have the right coaching and George Karl sure as hell can't give him that.

A trade with Battier to Denver would work as well because all Denver needs to be a contender is a one perimeter defender.

Have you guys watched JR Smith.

The guy is streaky as HELL. The guy will go 15-16 one night and the next night he will go 0-13.

JR Smith if he comes to Houston will make Cfans go CRAZY. The amount of trade threads we get for Tmac and Yao right now we will get 100x more for JR Smith with this fickle board.

On top of that this guy is nothing short of a complete headcase.

We have no need for him, we do need a scorer, but get one who isn't completely screwed up in the head.

Yes I can see that....

Give me a break guys, I would take Bobby Jackson over JR Smith on most nights. You guys watch him in 2 playoff games (or maybe just see his box score, which is probably most of people that want him) and you guys think he is what we need....

The guy shoots freaking 35 foot 3 pters, he doesn't pass at all, he will shoot shoot shoot whether he isn't making anything or if he is making everything.
