3 team: HOU - CHI - MIA CHI: Adams (HOU) + Tate (HOU) + 2 SRPs via HOU MIA: Brooks (HOU) + Unc Jeff (HOU) + Landale (HOU) + protected FRP via HOU HOU: Butler (MIA) + Vucevic (CHI) [possibly include Burks (MIA) + THT (CHI)] That would give HOU 5 players in top 55 on this list: FVV (55) - Holiday - THT JG - Sheppard - Burks Himmy (18) -Amen (47) - Cam Bari (IR) - Tari (52) Sengawd (11) - Vucevic (23) Leaves you with ammo to acquire Fox in off-season as well
The Rockets already made their move --they drafted Reed Sheppard. It was the wrong move. Reed is a BUST!
They tried to trade the pick completely out of the draft. There were no takers. Everybody knew that this was one of the worst drafts in NBA history, especially at the top of the draft and they were right.
Mentioning Zion and big in the same posting is dangerous O.P. I predicted Zion would have weight issues and that injuries would limit his productivity for his career prior to that draft. I said draft R.J. Barrett, at least he will play in games. I did no research on Ja Morant.
Zion's biggest problem is that he weighs too much, he has to come down to 240 to play in the NBA regularly. Pre-requirements are not granted. Weighs heavily on body, knees, joints, legs and feet. Green could use some of that weight himself.
Call me crazy, but I'd be looking at getting McVeigh some minutes over the next couple of weeks. Let's see how he goes.
"Salvage what is a GREAT season"?? Good Lord, NOTHING about this season has been "Great". Good. Yes. "Great"? No. Pump the brakes with this "great" BS.
Reed Sheppard is not a bust, he needs time. He is a knockdown shooter in practice, it is mental at this point. He is measuring his shots, instead of letting it fly. If Reed gets a consistent 20 minutes a game he can acclimate himself quicker in NBA speed.
They still have a young team very likely they throw a bunch of high potential guys like Eason, or Whitmore on rookie scale contacts until they know what they got. Although if you have the picks, you might entertain some sort of trade for Johnson with the Nets, because if he goes to OKC, that team will be penciled in ahead of Houston every year for years.
Our path to being better than okc is not by trading picks for role players, it would be by getting someone as good as Shai.
No it isn't. 2 of those top players are starting to already show up. Can't blame an entire draft because of Reeds current suckage. This was going to happen in whatever situation he went to because he is not ready for the NBA.
Houston is a melting pot BBQ topped with Gumbo/Etoufee with a side of enchiladas and a whole chinese roast pork
Meh, that's a massive exaggeration. Only 1 lottery pick has a positive VORP, Edey and he's only at 0.2. Everyone else is in the negatives, with risacher, castle, and carrington WAY in the negatives. Not a single lottery pick has a positive BPM, edey is the best at zero. Same 3 stand out as the biggest negatives there as well. Looking at EPM, castle is 295th at -2.1, knecht who some people like (not me) is 300th. Basically they all suck and are unplayble if you are trying to win, but the ones on bad teams get a lot of playing time.
I wouldn't mind seeing what this current team looks like in 2-3 years. I would rather keep cap space to extend Amen, Tari, Bari and possibly Cam and Reed. Wait patiently to trade if a top 10 player comes along. $50-$60 million per season for one dude is way too much unless they are top 10.
