agree, he was slept in the deadline night. We have young guys, draft picks, overdue contacts, but he did nothing... Terrible....
What opportunity was missed that will prove costly? Stone actually generated 2 srps for cash he created new opportunities for the team. The reality is we have a bunch of 23 yr olds it is too early for them to expect winning in the playoffs.
You are completely irrelevant….as what Terror Trips said was spot on 100% accurate and quite relevant!
There are only 2 even remotely available superstars in the league, Ant and Giannis. Amen is going to be a superstar just not there yet. Who is this magical superstar that is going to suddenly pick Houston over the East or West coasts?
Again, we're smashing the playoff goal with a very young core. Another bad, perhaps agenda ridden thread
The five NBA teams facing the most pressure after a ridiculous trade deadline Houston Rockets They're having an affirming season. Their rebuild is proceeding beautifully with recent draft picks Amen Thompson, Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun looking like cornerstones. Their deep supporting roster is developing and they have a future loaded with draft assets. This season, and a potential playoff run, is basically a free roll. No matter what happens, it will be a learning experience and they've already exceeded expectations. BUT ... The Rockets haven't proved they have a difference-making star, something that could become more apparent as the stakes rise. A recent losing streak, which wrapped around an inactive trade deadline, only highlighted this. Last Thursday night, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards dropped 41 points on the Rockets, including 16 in the fourth quarter, to erase Houston's lead. "It's nice to have a special player that can get buckets at the end," Rockets coach Ime Udoka said after his team managed just three field goals in that fourth quarter. Rockets general manager Rafael Stone, the architect of the turnaround, has preached patience. We'll see how that message is received this summer, when excitement about the next stage for Houston increases.
Ime didn’t do Stone or his players any favors with that stupid comment. All it does is convince any potential trading partners that we will have to meet their demands and erode confidence with his young players. Stone and Ime should continue to pound the drum that we already have a core that will get to championship level. Those kind of comments should be kept to the front office. Ime is just as imperfect as he keeps reminding his players that they are.
If Williams is that good, why didn't all those better GMs you rave about trade for him? Surely one of their teams needed help at the 5. Maybe - just maybe - the Blazers GM wanted more in return than anyone (including Stone) was willing to pay for him. You guys seem to think that Stone just sat on his ass and spoke to nobody at all about possible trades. Maybe the reality is he's smart enough not to overpay for the players he wants.
Rob Williams is ideal Ime system and would greatly assist in the flagging defense that Rockets have built their identity around, could we at least agree to this point? It is true that we do not know how intense the negotiations for RW3 were with POR but it is interesting that there is no noise by our local media sources that Stone was close to such a deal as they have been wont to do in the past. And this is a sports team forum, why is there so much offense over discourse ovetr a contrary opinion here? We could just agree to disagree but the hostility is pretty intense.
Why? The team played so hard in the first half of the season and people know at some point they will get flat tires, injuries, etc. We are not winning the champion this year, and nobody expects us to. The only fireable offense Stone was that he failed to get Luka, which was also the case for another 28 teams. Even if we got Rob Williams, we wouldn't be beating OKC this season.
You have nothing else to say bc you're a nimrod and our results speak for itself. 4 years after a complete rebuild and we're one of the best teams? No nonsense you spew can rebuttal this
Ty Jerome - Cavs - 43.0% (3P%) Garrison Mathews - Hawks - 38.5% (3P%) Rockets lacking shooting and your genius GM gives them away like candy. They contribute substantially to two teams contending. Your boy has two strikes vs all other GM's.....complete loser. All we got was a crappy T-shirt and Steven Adams who missed a full season and struggles to play more than 18 minutes and back to back games. Him being a free agent this summer makes him a crippled rental. What is Stone going to do next? Visit a disabled and blind hospital and sign a mentally challenged, blind, deaf mute who can hit one wide open 3 out of a million shots? Spare us.......we'll stick with Reed. Nobody can say anything without you and astrorule come trotting up like Stone's personal lap dogs. Paid shills to try to squash criticism as it pops up. I put astrorule on ignore and now I have to put your ignorant behind on ignore as well. So be it.
How did i get lumped as a Stone lap dog, i don't think i've ever praised him that i can remember lol, that's a funny one. If i got paid though i would happily shill for anyone if people are looking!
Chris Finch Allows Anthony Edwards all the shots he wants. Ime Udoka restricts Jalen Green, again and again denies giving him the ball for last second shots. Charles Barkley on Ime Udoka - I like Fred VanVleet, but Jalen Green should get the Last Shot. Dean Smith said it best on Michael Jordan "Don't put a saddle on a horse, let it run free".
