well judging by the number of votes JJ got, then either JJ, his father, or grandfather was a very prolific score-er.

    In general yes.

Lets look a little bit more specifically about it.

Yao and TD are both the best player on their team.
    check.
Yao and TD are the first options on offense and anchor their defense.
    check.
Yao and TD lead their teams in Pts., rebounds, blocks, and FG%
    check.
Yao and TD are all stars and marquee players for their teams.
    check.
Yao and TD are the focus for opposing teams' defenses.
    check.

Do you think I'm saying Yao is as GOOD as TD? Course not, Cmon nobody would say that. But that doesn't change the fact that they are the most important pieces to their teams, does it? And thats what the MVP is. You can't say that about JJ.

i never did. my point is that duncan is THE unquestioned leader of the spurs. he takes command of the game on every level, yao does not.

Yao and SF was up and down this season, JJ was the only guy who brought it almost every night. He's literally the glue to this offense. JJ gets my vote

Just want to know since when a role player is gonna be voted as MVP over two all star starters, and especially one guy who just made all NBA team?

If you don't have star players on the team, you can argue that a role player is to be voted as MVP. Case closed.

Why do you think so many people have voted for JJ? When the tread started I didn’t think so many people would vote the way they did.

So your expectation on Yao before the season was to make 1st team all-NBA? That's pretty damn high standard.

Yao lost to Ben by 6 points in competing for second team all-NBA and basically has firmly established himself as the 2rd best center in the league. How is that disappointing to the Rockets fans?

Let's just put it this way....if you had to pick, would you rather have Yao or JJ go down with a season ending injury????Case closed.

    "MVP - THIS SEASON"

JJ, Cato, and Mo T. Especially Cato. What was our stat-line when Cato got injured? We lost more than we won, that is for sure.

Yao is soft and inconsistent. Francis is erratic and should be the 2 guard on this team.
Please trade Cuttino for gawd's sake!

Where's the emotion and passion from the Rockets? If I see another "volley ball" tip out instead of a rebound from Yao, I will
go crazy. Grab the f*ckin' ball, don't tap it out hoping a guard or someone will be behind you.

Van Gundy is a big problem for this team. He can't get control of this team...sure his Defensive mind is excellent, but his offensive
sets are terrible. Plus his abrasive style just doesn't work.

Hope steve plays next season more like the playoffs (without turnovers)

Cat and MT did their work

    Yao is getting better

JJ was the BEST, and Cato Helped a LOT this year.

Agreed, he had laid the ground work for greater success next year, we’ll see what happens with the off season.

The fact that anyone other than Jackson is getting consideration for MVP of the Rockets is just wrong. Jackson came to play evey night, and played more minutes than anyone thought he could. Even when he wasn't scoring in bunches, he was doing the little things that help us win. Jackson, as far as I'm concerned, was the best thing that happened to the Rockets this year. With out a doubt the most consistant Rocket, and the won that played the game of basketball with the most smarts.
