Judging by CP3's early announcement that he will resign with the Clippers, the net gain in LA would most likely outweigh the extension
It would take a pretty big piece for me to even think of including Bev with anything. Shumpert is definitely not that piece..
Lol hell no. In the past bev was overrated to me. But he's become a knock down shooter, not a COMPLETE liability on offense and he brings something to the table no one else does... can't lose him for IMAN FREAKING SHUMPERT
Still a good defender, and can guard 3-4 positions in certain match ups. He also has been working with a private shooting coach. If the Rockets believe that he has genuinely improved his three point shot, he is very valuable for a team like the Rockets. Adding someone like Shumpert would let the Rockets trot out three point shooting at the 1-4 spots on the floor at all times. The Rockets could also in certain situations go really small and run Anderson at the 5. Three point shooting percentages Anderson 41% Shumpert 40% Williams 39% Beverley 39% Gordon 39% Harden 35% Ariza 35% Theoretically, and with a coach like D'Antoni; you have a chance to upset teams that are more talented than you, if you have enough shooting and can out scheme everyone else. It is possible that the Rockets are trying to do that.
CP3 will take the most money from teh Clips anyway. Not the same for PG3. With the new cba even if he's traded today he won't be able to get the vet designated extension anymore from the Lakers. He will have to start in multiple movies or smth to earn it back.
I love Bev. Yes I think his defense is sometimes a little overrated but his energy, toughness and hustle combined with his good shooting make him a perfect complementary piece next to either Harden or Williams, and good next to Gordon too. We can't lose Bev unless it's part of a major deal. Like "Paul-George-changed-his-mind-about-LA-and-wanted-to-come-to-Houston" kind of major deal.
