    Where is Kenny now? Exactly!
No big 12 peeps here just C-USA

I notice no one has commented on Richard Jefferson just on Lewis and Najera b/c I have a point. Rockets scouts are missing overlooking somethings.

I had understood that we drafted Najera for Dallas and, maybe, the trade was contingent on Langhi or someone else on the short list being available. Is that not true?

    Well said HeyP.

No need looking back now. We have Francis and Yao - we are blessed.

IMO, Jefferson is only as good as the talent around him, meaning good player, but he benefits so much from Kidd it's crazy. Najera probably would have languished on the bench here as Langhi did, imo.

Rashard was a complete miss, mostly because we passed on him once in the 2nd round. Yes, yes we had Pippen...who else did we have at that position?

We not only passed up Baby Jordan. We missed out on Michael Jordan.

    Najara???That guy isn't that good...

He's only there because of the Spanish marketing...That was the big deal killer about him getting some $$$ from Cuban...

Clyde not being drafted by Houston was the best thing ever to me and Clyde being traded to Houston is even better.

True, but I think the guy we took ahead of him turned out to be pretty good too. But that's a whole other thread!

    LOL, A-Train, that's really funny!

We got Horry over Baby Jordan, and got Dream over Real Jordan. Pretty good choices to me.

As noted in the Chronicle Rockets' notes a couple of days ago, the Rockets did not miss out on Najera. The trade was already worked out before Dallas picked in the second round (ahead of Houston). If we had not agreed in advance to the trade, Dallas would have simply picked Najera with their pick (ahead of us).

The article also noted, that being said, had the Rockets had Dallas' pick, they would have taken Langhi anyway. But nonetheless, they didn't, and they couldn't have taken Najera in the second round.

Some people VASTLY overrated Horry. Yes, he hits key shots that are created by Shaq and Kobe. But it's not like Horry was a 2nd round pick. He was an f'ing lotto pick.

In fact, some idiots claimed him to be the next Pippen.

We didn't have Pippen at the time.

Elie was the starting SF in the 97-98 season, just before we could have drafted Lewis in the 98 Draft. We signed Pippen in Jan of 99.

How about Carlos Boozer? Have you seen his stats lately? He is a solid contributor, gets boards, does the dirty work, doesn't complain, is a good guy, plus can score when needed. His performance as of late is better than Amare. The only reason why people don't hear of Boozer is because he is in Cleveland.

He is sort of like MoT, except does the dirty work. But I guess during the draft, the Rockets already had the 4 position filled. Oh well, hindsight is 20-20.

I'm still waiting on Dave Jamerson to hit a shot. He could fill it up, right? Right?

I thought that Derrick Chievous was gonna be the man. That band-aid thing had me going.

I ranted for days behind the Harold Miner fiasco (it was such a no brainer). There wasn't enough bad adjectives to describe my feeling towards the Rockets on that day.

John Turner was always a scrub. Not even close.:D
