seems like a good fit next to Harden. Definitely a combo guard. It's possible he's better than Fornier, who we know the Roclets were interested in.
Thanks. And what if we sign him with, let's say a 10x3 contract when the Heat have only 5 million in cap space, they shouldn't be able to match that right?
He's not better than Never Google, but would be a great pickup. Hope we can get him. We have so many holes on this team to fill.
Signing Johnsons would probably spell the end of Llull in Houston. They essentially do the same things. Maybe you make a call to Llull with a "final offer". Still, Johnson is 5 years younger....
I think they could. It would go 5.6M - ~6M - ~20M on their cap. The problem is that 3rd year. It could severely limit what they could do that third year; or ensure a hefty LT bill.
I'm not sure about that, they don't have full birds on him so i don't think they can go over the cap for a contract higher than 175% of the previous one...but maybe i'm wrong
It would be hard to make Miami not match if they have confidence in this guy. Even if you did 4 for 60 his numbers would be 5.7 season 1 / 5.7 season 2 / 24.3 seasons 3 & 4. So his deal would be extremely cap friendly in the first two seasons for Miami and in seasons 3 & 4 with the way the salary cap is exploding, those may be a fair salary for him if he keeps developing. The Rockets salary cost would be 15 million a season for 4 years so you better be sure if you sign him. I don't think Miami blinks if his total contract is 40 million. That would be 5.7 in years 1 & 2 and 14.3 million in years 3 & 4. Obviously your looking at 10 million a season for Houston.
8.5 /yr - 3 yr contract - Using the Gilbert Arenas Provision... 5 million/5.5 million/15 million (year 3) They have to make a deal for Wade. Miami is going to have a ton of pissed off fans if Wade leaves the Heat.
Meanwhile don't forget the Bucks are pressuring the Heat on Wade. They have a meeting next week to offer him double the money at least.
Yes. Do this! Him, Ian Clark or Seth Curry. Try to offer them Teletovic type deals. See if they bite. There's about a 95% chance they'll over-perform and exceed the value of their contracts.
There is no trick that can prevent the home team from matching any offer on an Early Bird player. They just use their Early Bird Exception -- which can always match an MLE. That is the intention of the Arenas provision, which closes the loop holes to use whatever trick you have in mind. Just get it out of your mind that we can outbid Miami's ability to match.
