Since he is a restricted free agent we would have to through stupid money at him. He would probably be a nice back court mate with Harden.
He's an early bird restricted free agent, so he's subject to the arenas provision. We could definitely get him if Wade stays in Miami.
The Rockets need shooters, period. So I'm all for them signing guys like this to bring off the bench. The fact that he's only 24 is nice, too, as there's certainly upside there. The question is whether Miami will match or not, but they've got some pretty big numbers on the books now with Whiteside re-signing and Wade expected to re-sign. I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that the Heat would match a $10M per year contract.
But once a team like the Heat has Whiteside locked up, it may prohibit them from matching on the lesser guys. While they can go over the cap to match, it may prevent them from moves down the road.
Just so you know I read yesterday that Tyler Johnson wants 10 million a year. I will try to find the link.
oh here we go : http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=16644368 "Woj: Tyler Johnson will get minimum of $10 million per season"
